  • Patent number: 6244838
Abstract: The invention is a system and process for pumping fluids in lines, comprising using, on the lines, a pump with at least two alternating fluid pumping units. Each pumping unit (PU1, PU2) comprises a cylinder (2) and a piston (1) alternately displaceable in the cylinder under the action of a power source (M), under the control of a control device (PC), with, for both pistons, imposed displacement functions (f(t), g(t)) suitably phase-shifted in relation to one another so as to obtain a first operating mode corresponding to substantially constant delivery rate. This pump is operated in the same circuit according to the complementary second operating mode corresponding to a substantially constant intake rate by inversion of the direction of displacement of the pistons so as to apply to the pistons displacement functions (−f(t), −g(t)) symmetrical to those corresponding to the first operating mode.

  • Patent number: 6118885
Abstract: A static system designed for acquisition and processing of images of an area flown over in several spectral bands, which are variable on request, of the visible or infrared spectrum. The system includes an on-board assembly including a two-dimensional (distance.times.frequency) CCD matrix type photography device (1) suited for acquisition of successive images of strips of ground flown over in one or more spectral bands spread by a dispersion unit, and a processing unit (2) associated with a trajectory and trim determination device (3, 4), allowing selection in real time of images of the site in one or more spectral bands whose respective widths and spectral functions can be changed at will by means of software according to the nature of the phenomena to be analyzed within the scope of the application where it is used, and allowing ready linking up of images shifted by fluctuations of the aircraft trajectory, notably due to roll.

  • Patent number: 6116869
Abstract: The present invention is a pumping system which mixes liquids with a well-controlled proportioning and flow rate. The pumping system according to the invention comprises a liquid mixing device (MX) placed upstream from a pump (P). The liquids are taken from vessels (RA, RB), cyclically introduced, in a determined proportion, in a mixing chamber (9) through alternate opening of on-off solenoid valves (EVA, EVB). The system is controlled at the input by using a damping means such as bellows (11A, 11B) in antechambers (8A, 8B) in order to avoid the effects of velocity discontinuities at the time of the opening and of the closing of the valves. The delivery of pump (P) is controlled at the input as well as at the discharge end. The system may be used for liquid chromatography plants.

  • Patent number: 6030196
Abstract: A variable-speed motor comprising a sun gear (P), at least two planet gears (Si, Si+1), a ring gear (C), an intermediate sector (Zi) between the sides opposite the sun gear (P), opposite the two planet gears (Si, Si+1), and opposite ring gear (C), defining the circulation paths of the drive fluid therewith. The junctions (J(P, Si), J(Si, C), J(Si+1), C), J(P, Si+1)) are impermeable to the drive fluid. The two inlets (Ai, .alpha.i+1) and the two returns (Ri, .rho.i+1) for the drive fluid are provided in sector (Zi) in the vicinity of the junctions; the inlets (Ai, .alpha.i+1) and the returns (Ri, .rho.i+1) are located at two opposite vertices of the quadrilateral.

  • Patent number: 5936245
Abstract: The invention is a method and system for detecting, by means of specific processings of images of an area flown over taken in several spectral bands, signs indicative of a stress of the vegetation and the presence of spots where fire is likely to occur or spread. Images of the area flown over are acquired by means of a photography device (1) in a first spectral band selected in the red part (R) of the visible spectrum, in a second spectral band of the near infrared spectrum (N.I.R.) and in a third spectral band in the thermal infrared spectrum selected to locate parts of the area showing both a hydric stress and hot spots. Coded composite images are obtained by color coding of the aforementioned spectral bands and the images obtained in the three spectral bands are combined by means of a processing system (12, 13), which identifies fire development hazards caused by water deficit and local overheating. The system can be used for fire forecast, protection and fighting.

  • Patent number: 5211841
Abstract: A pretreating plastic waste device including a tank containing a liquid to which the plastic waste is introduced, a washing pump, a dripping drum, and a dewatering device comprising a press-screw adapted for separating the washed waste from the washing liquid and a drying drum fed by a hot air blower, and a filtration vat. A programmable controller receiving signals from various level and temperature sensors and various working parameters allows total control, at all stages, of the waste pretreatment cycle. The programmable controller is associated with a screen for displaying error messages and a control desk for allowing direct selective intervention at the level of the concerned elements.
