  • Patent number: 6282255
Abstract: The field is that of variable-modulo frequency dividers. To obtain a fast variable-modulo divider over a wide operating range the idea of the invention is to use twin flip-flops (1, 2; 3, 4; 5, 6; 7, 8) for the feedbacks. The benefit of this configuration is that it avoids the use of decoding gates between the flip-flops this increasing the propagation times of the feedback signals.

  • Patent number: 5752175
Abstract: The device includes a first frequency synthesizer loop with fractional division to a apply a first wide frequency band transposition signal to an input of the first mixing stage of the receiver, a second phase-lock frequency synthesizer loop to apply a second narrow frequency band transposition signal to an input of the second mixer stage of the receiver and a common frequency source coupled to the first loop and to the second loop for the application, to their reference inputs, of a frequency reference signal. Application to wideband (20 MHz to GHz) V/UHF receivers.

  • Patent number: 5122762
Abstract: A synthesizer including a voltage-controlled oscillator, a phase-frequency comparator, a variable-rank frequency divider, a command device to control the oscillation frequency of the voltage-controlled oscillator on a frequency which is a multiple of the frequency of the reference signal as a function of the rank of division of the variable-rank frequency divider. The phase-frequency comparator circuit sends a first series and a second series of pulses as a function of the phase advance or delay respectively of the signals applied to its first and second inputs, to charge or discharge an integration capacitor and provide a signal commanding the advance or delay of the frequency and phase of the oscillator as a function of the voltage developed at the terminals of the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 4492936
Abstract: In order to deliver an angle-modulated output signal as a function of digital information, the frequency synthesizer delivers an output frequency F.sub.S =(N+k)F.sub.R, where N is the integral part of a number N+k and F.sub.R is a reference frequency. Provision is made for a variable oscillator, an oscillator control loop comprising in series a variable divider having a preselected divisor N, a phase comparator for receiving the reference frequency and a summing device. The synthesizer further comprises a phase accumulator for performing, at the frequency F.sub.R, modulo-M summation of a number G=k(M) applied to its input. The sum and carry outputs of the accumulator are coupled respectively to the summing device in order to deliver a signal for compensating the signal delivered by the phase comparator and to the divider for delivering a control signal to select the divisor N+1.
