Patent number: 8133126Abstract: The present invention relates to a golf club having alignment markings that assist a golfer in finding a proper and consistent posture before addressing the ball. In one embodiment, a golf club according to the present invention includes a shaft, a club head having a striking face, a hosel coupling the club head to the shaft, and one or more alignment markings at a position substantially elevated from the club head and substantially behind the shaft. Embodiments of the golf club may further comprise an appendage extending outwardly from the golf club and carrying alignment markings thereon in a direction substantially parallel to the striking face. Such alignment markings provide a golfer with a proper setup when the shaft is seen by the golfer as interposed between, and parallel to, the alignment markings. A golf club according to the present invention may be configured in a variety of shapes, for example, as a putter, an iron, a driver or a wood.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2009Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Premium Golf Brands, LLCInventors: Jason Pouliot, Andre Shmoldas

Patent number: 7083525Abstract: A golf club head comprising an integral toe, heel and center section, with the center section including a cavity. The center section is structured so that the majority of the weight of the golf club head is positioned at the toe and heel. One embodiment of the golf club head includes an insert located in the cavity and a second insert is located in the golf ball striking face of the golf club head. The inserts, alone and in combination, increase the feel transmitted through the golf club head to the golfer.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2001Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: Roger Cleveland Golf Company, Inc.Inventors: Brian Pond, Andre Shmoldas, Tom Morris, Jim McGeeney

Patent number: 6692378Abstract: The present invention relates to a golf club having a golf club head with a channel on the head. The golf club head may be a putter-type club head that is used to putt the golf ball on a green. The use of the channel on the club head provides a mass distribution that can result in a high moment of inertia so that the club head resists twisting in the player's hand when the club head strikes a golf ball. The channel also assists a player in aligning the club head to strike a golf ball. The channel may be located on the upper face of the club head so that the player can see the channel when addressing a golf ball with the golf club. The channel extends from a front, strike face of the club head to a rear face of the club head and is preferably aligned with an axis that corresponds to the desired direction of travel of a golf ball that is struck with the club head.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2002Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: Roger Cleveland Golf Company, Inc.Inventors: Andre Shmoldas, Brian Pond, Jim McGeeney, Tom Morris
