Publication number: 20220332685Abstract: Despite recent efforts to eradicate malaria worldwide, this parasitic disease is still considered a major public health problem, with a total of 219 million malaria cases and 435,000 deaths in 2017 After a decade of use, however, resistance to CQ has emerged in some locations, including Southeast Asia, South America, and the Western Pacific region, spreading progressively into malaria-endemic areas, including Africa, where increases in malaria mortality have been observed. This has led, in recent years, to the adoption of artemisinin-based combination therapies. Artemisinin-based combination therapies remain effective in most parts of the world, but recent cases of resistance in Southeast Asia call for new approaches and especially new drugs to treat malaria. Thus, the present invention features CQ analogues of Formula (I) that exhibited high activity against CQ-sensitive and CQ-resistant blood parasites and were also active in mice.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2020Publication date: October 20, 2022Applicant: FUNDÃÇAO OSWALDO CRUZInventors: Antoniana Ursine KRETTLI, Mario Roberto MENEGHETTI, Anna Caroline Campos AGUIAR, Wilian Augusto Cortopassi COELHO, André Silva PIMENTEL

Patent number: 11367255Abstract: An example of a computer-readable medium is provided to store machine-readable instructions. The instructions may cause a processor to receive three-dimensional (3D) object representations of an object. The distance between points of a grid applied to 3D object representation and random points on the 3D object representation may provide a sampling error used in calculating a modeling accuracy between the 3D object representations.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2018Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignees: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P., Universidade Federal de Pernambuco—UFPEInventors: Diogo Henriques, Francisco Simoes, Silvio Melo, André Silva, Thiago Chaves, Gustavo Charamba, Joao Teixeira, Veronica Teichrieb, Gutemberg Barros, Walter Correia, Thiago Domingues, Vinicius Castilho, Scott A. Patent number: 11178038Abstract: A method, a computer program product, and a computer system orchestrate devices of a device ecosystem. The method performed by an orchestrator includes receiving polling data from agents that are directly connected to the devices indicating simulations run by the devices for a cloud service. The method comprises determining a preview state of the device ecosystem. The method comprises determining an action to change a state of the device ecosystem based on the preview state. The method comprises generating an instruction for the action and the devices to perform the action. The method comprises transmitting the instruction to the agents, the agents actuating the change via the determined at least one of the devices performing the action. The orchestrator orchestrates the agents such that the devices are provided the cloud service isolated from a cloud computing system associated with the cloud service.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2020Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Dario Andres Silva Moran, Yara Rizk

Patent number: 10288548Abstract: A method and apparatus for estimating a fouling state of a heat exchanger of an aircraft. Training sensor measurements are obtained of a parameter related to operation of the heat exchanger and a wavelet transform is applied to the training sensor measurements to obtain wavelet data. Data reduction is performed on the wavelet data to obtain representative features indicative of the training sensor measurements. A classifier is then trained to assign suitable fouling classes to the representative features. The trained classifier is used on testing sensor measurements from the heat exchanger to assign a fouling class to the testing sensor measurements in order to estimate the fouling state of the heat exchanger.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2015Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND CORPORATIONInventors: Andre A. Patent number: 9908235Abstract: A robotic system that includes a plurality of controlled linkages operating in an environment where random disturbance forces act on the linkages is disclosed. A rigid chassis with first and third linkages pinned to the rigid chassis at one end and pinned at the other end to other linkages is also disclosed. Sensors are also disclosed that sense the respective angles and rates of change of the angles between the chassis and the first and third linkages. Motors are also disclosed that move the first and third linkages about the pinned connections to the chassis. A controller is disclosed that controls the first and second motors as a function of the output of the sensors and a sum of the magnitudes of the discrete disturbance forces acting on the linkages to programmably control the first and second angles. The controller thereby controls the position and motion of all of the linkages without need for calculating the discrete disturbance forces acting on the individual linkages.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2015Date of Patent: March 6, 2018Inventor: Rene Andre Silva Viego
