The first plate comprises two first channels for conducting media, which run next to one another and are separated at least in sections by a web formed between the first channels. The second plate comprises a second channel for conducting media. The web formed between the first channels is lower in the crossing region of the second channel such that the first channels running on either side of the web are fluidically connected by a lower portion of the web. In or near the lower portion, the first plate is connected to the base of the second channel by a welded joint. The welded joint forms an end crater spaced away from a first end and a second end of the welded joint.

    Abstract: A flow plate for a humidifier, having flow fields on both mutually opposite flat sides of the flow plate is described. The flow plate proposed here has a multiplicity of through-openings, wherein the through-openings are designed such that a perpendicular projection of the through openings onto a plane oriented parallel to the plane of the flat surface of the flow plate has a non-vanishing area, so that gas passing through the through-openings effects, at least in part, mixing of a gas guided in the flow fields perpendicular to the plane of the flat surface of the flow plate. The through-openings improve the power of the humidifier, thus permitting a lower number of flow plates and therefore a more lightweight and more compact design.
