Patent number: 7233876Abstract: A system for data acquisition providing dual monitoring of sensor data. Data is acquired from sensing devices by a primary data acquisition circuit and a secondary data acquisition circuit. Multiple sensors are used to sense a condition of the same operating parameters, in order to verify a process condition. Data acquired by first and second sensing devices are respectively processed by the primary and secondary data acquisition circuits. According to one aspect of the present invention, a process condition is verified by comparing data associated with the first sensing device and data associated with the second sensing device. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention data acquired by a single sensing device may be processed through both the primary data acquisition circuit and the secondary data acquisition circuit, in order to verify operation of the primary and secondary data acquisition circuits.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2003Date of Patent: June 19, 2007Assignee: Steris Inc.Inventors: Eric Halstead, Yves-André Thériault

Patent number: 6439248Abstract: A high pressure pump (14) supplies cleaning fluid from a reservoir (12) to spray nozzles (20) inside a washing chamber (10). The spray nozzles (20) spray the cleaning fluid over a load to be cleaned. Used cleaning fluid is collected in a sump (30). A sump pump (32) drains the sump. The combination of the high pressure pump and sump pump provides more efficient cleaning of the load and eliminates the requirement for a deep sump beneath the washer. A vertical traveler (22), having a pair of counterbalanced spray arms (24), raises and lowers the spray nozzles counter cyclically; a detergent injection system (50) accurately meters a correct amount of detergent is added to the cleaning fluid; and a filtration device (34) filters suspended material from the used cleaning fluid and uses a portion of the cleaning fluid to clean itself.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2001Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Steris CorporationInventors: Daniel Rochette, Michel Lemay, Yves-André Theriault, Michel Emond, Mario Duchaine, Ghislain Parent, Nathalie Thibault

Patent number: 6316932Abstract: An A-base utility meter cover assembly is described. The meter cover assembly is fabricated of a thermoplastic injection molding material, such as polycarbonate, and includes a base cover covered by a terminal cover. In one embodiment, the base cover includes a terminal block cavity for receiving a utility meter terminal block, and two locking tabs and a snap portion which engage openings through the terminal cover when the base cover and terminal cover are in an assembled configuration. In the assembled configuration, a dam and deflectors on the terminal cover are aligned with ribs on the base to form a continuous barrier against water flow into the terminal block cavity. The configuration of the locking tabs and snap portion also protect against tampering with meter electronics by preventing removal of the terminal cover.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1999Date of Patent: November 13, 2001Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Patrick J. Patent number: 5967160Abstract: Retractable doors 22 to a washing chamber 20 of a washer 10 open automatically to allow a load to be processed to be wheeled into the chamber. The doors are fitted with blowout panels 42, 44. In an emergency, a worker trapped in the washing chamber can escape by pushing the blowout panels outward. A tilting floor assembly 70 includes a floor 76 supported on a frame 74 and a lifting mechanism 90 for selectively raising and lowering a side of the frame to tilt the floor. The floor is tilted automatically during a cleaning cycle to allow cleaning fluids to drain from the load, then leveled before opening of the doors for ease of removal of the load.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Steris CorporationInventors: Daniel Rochette, Michel Lemay, Yves-Andre Theriault, Michel Emond, Mario Duchaine, Ghislain Parent, Nathalie Thibault
