Patent number: 7552542Abstract: A measuring arrangement for measuring clearance between a bearing internal part and a bearing external part of a bearing, in particular in an aircraft or spacecraft, is disclosed. The idea underlying the measuring arrangement is to adjust the bearing part relative to the bearing external part with an adjusting device and to measure the adjustment carried out with a measuring device. The advantage according to the measuring arrangement is that a much more accurate and repeatable measuring may be achieved relative to current measuring which depends on the intuition and experience of the mechanic.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2007Date of Patent: June 30, 2009Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventors: Per Nilsson, Andre Thomas, Andreas Kammlott

Patent number: 6185428Abstract: A system and method that makes more efficient utilization of BTS resources when BTSs are employed in time of arrival (TOA) measurements as is common in mobile positioning operations. A maximum signaling delay is assumed for which BTS resource assignment is delayed by a default time span in the event of an impending TOA measurement thereby allowing the BTS availment of the resources which would otherwise be idle yet assigned and therefore unavailable for other BTS functions during the period of signaling delay. The period of resource assignment delay may be increased or decreased, the actual adaption of the delay dependent on the true signaling delay.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1998Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Assignee: Ericsson IncInventors: Christopher H. Kingdon, Andres Thomas Holmring, Bagher Rouhollah Zadeh

Patent number: 4536907Abstract: There is effected an accelerated direct neutralization in-situ of the substrates which are impregnated with alkaline hydroxide which is free or fixed on the cellulose, by contact with a neutralizing fluid containing carbon dioxide in a gaseous, aqueous or combined phase, this fluid being introduced in accordance with requirements related to the quantity of alkali to be neutralized. The process may be used in the textile industry in continuous and discontinuous treatments and is adaptable to all types of textile machines employing an aqueous method.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1983Date of Patent: August 27, 1985Assignee: L'Air Liquide, Societe Anonyme Pour L'Etude Et L'Exploitation Des Procedes Georges ClaudeInventors: Jean-Pierre Zumbrunn, Jean Levielle, Andre Thomas, Francoise Grangette

Process for extracting and processing glycoproteins, mucopolysaccharides and accompanying substances
Patent number: 4108849Abstract: The extraction and processing of glycoproteins and/or mucopolysaccharides and accompanying substances, from natural substances, such as tissues of animal, cryptogamic, bacterial or other plant organisms, or materials produced by such organisms is disclosed. The substance is treated with water of buffers with a pH value of 7.5 to 9.5, in one or more stages, at between atmospheric temperature and 110.degree. C. The precipitated solids are separated out, while the unprocessed extract is clarified and stabilized, and possibly mixed with fatty substances, obtained, for example, from extracts of organs containing complex lipoids in a natural state of equilibrium. These new, very stable extracts are particularly suitable for aqueous, fatty or dry mixtures, for industrial, medical or cosmetic purposes. One important application involves the preparation of an extract of lactoserum, in liquid, paste or powder form, which is very stable, soluble, and will not precipitate in the presence of heat.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1975Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Inventor: Andre Thomas
