  • Publication number: 20020024887
Abstract: The electronic watch includes hands (2, 4, 5) indicating the time, a device (6) displaying at least the date, this device being formed of first (9) and second (10) indicators on which are marked figures (11, 12) respectively indicating the tens and the units of said date. A control member able to be activated manually allows the hands to be set to the correct time and the date to be set. The first (9) and second (10) indicators are each driven by an independent motor (17, 18).

  • Patent number: 5172349
Abstract: The timepiece of this invention comprises an electromagnetic motor (100) the stator (2) of which is flat and at least partially covered by a reinforcement plate (68) of non-magnetic material or, if need be, of very low magnetic permeability which has been attached to it, preferably by welding, prior to subjecting it in bulk along with others, to reheating thereby to protect it during such operation against the risk of deformation or breakage which would render it thereafter unusable. In conformity with the invention and to avoid such plate becoming a useless extra part taking up space in the timepiece, it includes means which enable it to form at the same time another element of the timepiece. Such element may be for instance a trigger piece jumper spring (72) which cooperates with a trigger piece (212) in order to define stable positions of a manual control stem (184) which may be axially displaced.

  • Patent number: 5029149
Abstract: An object, which is particularly destined for use in horology or jewelry, includes a substrate which constitutes the framework and which is preferably formed from injected cast aluminium. A decorative and protective coating overlays the substrate, such coating consisting of a deposit of a first layer of aluminium in a substantially pure state and a second layer capping the first, said second layer being constituted of aluminium oxide formed from the first layer. The object may be a watch case or a bracelet link.

  • Patent number: 4969133
Abstract: A timepiece includes at least two motors (1, 2), in which the shafts (4, 16) of the rotors (3, 15) are arranged head-to-foot in a manner such that the free end of the pinion (27) fixed to the shaft of one rotor extends in the direction opposite to that in which extends the free end of the pinion (30) fixed to the shaft of the other rotor. Each of the pinions (27, 30) is in mesh with a toothed wheel (26, 29), such wheels being mounted coaxially with one another on either side of a base plate (40). Each of the wheels directly controls a hand (25, 28) indicating a unit of time.

  • Patent number: 4868402
Abstract: The device comprises a photo-electric detection sensor (4), a luminescent diode (1) that produces a light beam for illuminating the detection sensor (4) and an opaque element (5) that is formed with an opening (6) and is mechanically connected to a mobile member (A), such as a hand of a timepiece, whose transit through a reference position is to be detected. The opaque element (5) and the opening (6) are so disposed as to allow the light beam to travel on or to be interrupted depending on whether the mobile element (A) is in its reference position or in another position. The device further comprises a comparator (13) which compares the signal produced by the detection sensor (4) with a reference signal produced in response to a signal supplied by a reference photo-electric sensor (9) that is manufactured on the same plate of semi-conductor material (3) as the detection sensor (4) and is so disposed as to receive no light.

  • Patent number: 4696577
Abstract: A watch middle cum plate is described that comprises an annular middle-forming portion and a plate-forming portion which is surrounded by the middle-forming portion and which is formed with recesses for receiving components of the watch movement. The middle cum plate is provided with a protective coating of which a first part essentially covers the plate-forming portion and of which a second, thicker, more resistant part covers at least the visible surfaces of the middle-forming portion.Such middles cum plates may be made from flat brass blanks by machining recesses in their central portion for receiving components of a watch movement, by applying to the blanks a layer of material that is chemically more inert than brass to form the first part of the above coating, stacking and assembling the blanks such that at least the above central portions of the blanks with the recesses are masked, and applying to the visible regions of the stacked and assembled blanks the above second part of the coating.

  • Patent number: 3969888
Abstract: A driving mechanism for a day and date calendar device comprising two Maltese crosses from which one activates the display of the days and the other the display of the dates. One of said Maltese crosses includes a magnetic clutch serving as disconnecting-gear when the date indication only is changed.
