Publication number: 20230295888Abstract: A convertible snow plow comprises a support frame having a forward end and a rearward end, the rearward end adapted to be mounted to a vehicle, a pair of plow blades hinged together along inboard ends of the blades at a hinge at the forward end of the support frame, an actuator having opposite ends, one end connected to the support frame, and a two-position linkage connected to the other end of the actuator and to at least one of the blades. When the linkage is in the first position the blades are in a straight blade configuration and the actuator is operable to position the blades in straight blade forward, straight blade left, and straight blade right positions, and when the linkage is in the second position the blades are in a V-blade configuration and the actuator is operable to position the blades in forward swept V and rearward swept V positions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2022Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Gatesy R.C.D. Gates, Andre Valmont Leblond

Publication number: 20220112673Abstract: A snow plow assembly comprises an angle frame adapted to be operably mounted to a vehicle, a quadrant frame, a plow blade mounted to the quadrant frame, a drive link pivotally connected to the angle frame and the quadrant frame at first and second pivot points, respectively, a swing link pivotally connected to the angle frame and the quadrant frame at third and fourth pivot points, respectively, the angle frame, quadrant frame, drive link, and swing link, and the first, second, third, and fourth pivot points defining a four-bar linkage, and a first actuator pivotally connected on one end to the angle frame at a fifth pivot point and pivotally connected on the other end to the drive link at a sixth pivot point, wherein extending the first actuator causes the quadrant frame and hence the plow blade to rotate in a first direction from a neutral position generally perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and retracting the first actuator causes the quadrant frame and hence the plow blade to rotate inType: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2021Publication date: April 14, 2022Inventors: Gatesy R.C.D. Patent number: 7797859Abstract: A snowplow and mount assembly comprising a mount frame adapted to be secured to a vehicle, and a snowplow frame. One of the mount frame and the snowplow frame has first and second arms and the other of the mount frame and snowplow frame has first and second receivers, the first and second receivers receiving the first and second arms, respectively. Respective ones of first and second latch pins removably secure the first and second arms in the first and second receivers. A latch lever is operably associated with the first and second latch pins and simultaneously actuates the latch pins to latched and unlatched positions. The snowplow frame includes a jack stand movable to and between an extended ground contacting and snowplow frame supporting position and a retracted ground noncontacting and snowplow frame nonsupporting position.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2010Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignee: Douglas Dynamics, L.L.C.Inventors: Andre Valmont LeBlond, James Calvin Pieper, Mark Lawrence Stultz, Steven Lohry Klug, John Wallace Field, David Bloxdorf
