Prior to receiving the data communication, the receiver requires limited information concerning the wireless link parameters established by the transmitter. The wireless link parameters can include selectable aspects such as one or more of a transmission channel, a transmission data rate, a modulation format, a transmission power, a packet format, and a channel coding scheme.

The receiving wireless node includes a receiver circuit configured to receive the transmissions from the first and the second transmitting wireless nodes simultaneously and on separate frequency channels, and a transmitter circuit configured to generate acknowledgment packets for the first and the second transmitting wireless nodes upon receipt of the transmissions by the receiving wireless node.
