  • Publication number: 20240050925
Abstract: A method for modifying a support material, in particular a polymeric support material, for use as a stationary phase in an analytical or preparative separation process. The method includes the steps of providing a support material, coating the support material with an oligoamine or polyamine and reacting the support material with a compound comprising a first functional group reactive with amines and/or hydroxy group and an ion-exchange group. Additionally a support material, a chromatography column, a method of chromatographic separation of analytes and the use of such support material.

  • Publication number: 20230211095
Abstract: The invention is directed to an inhaler device for inhalable liquids, in particular for the administration of inhalable volatile liquids such as halogenated volatile liquids, to a patient. According to particular embodiments, the inhaler device may include a liquid container for hermetically storing inhalable liquid; a wicking material for supporting inhalable liquid; a piercing member configured to pierce the liquid container, wherein the liquid container may be provided in a first position in which the piercing member does not engage the liquid container and inhalable liquid remains hermetically stored within the liquid container, and the liquid container may be displaced from the first position to a second position such that the piercing member pierces the liquid container to release inhalable liquid onto the wicking material, whereby during inhalation inhalable liquid vapor from the wicking material is delivered to the patient.

  • Publication number: 20180015223
Abstract: The present invention provides an injection pen system comprising of a driver assembly for a drug container; a syringe assembly; a power source for generating electrical energy; electrical communication means in each of the driver assembly and syringe assembly wherein the driver assembly and syringe assembly are in electrical communication; and at least one microprocessor programmed to monitor electrical signals produced by the injection pen components. The electrical signals may be produced at predefined intervals and they may be wirelessly transmitted. The transmitted signals may trigger commands within a computer program monitoring the injection process. The computer program may be spaced from the injection and driver assemblies. The injection pen system may incorporate a two-way switch activated by a trigger initiated by pulling a cap from a primary drug container or pushing the drug container adjacent a subject. The activation may cause the mixing of a lyophilised substrate with a fluid for injection.

  • Publication number: 20170274149
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus and systems for enabling and monitoring injection of medicinal fluids into a subject. The invention includes a housing for a prefilled syringe, the housing incorporating means for generating and sending signals as parts of the syringe cooperate to deliver the fluids. The signals may be transmitted from a transmitter on the housing as radiowaves to a receiver, which may be conveniently located on a spaced device, such as a mobile phone. The mobile phone or other receiving device incorporates computer software to receive, store the signals from the transmitter as a record of the injection process. The computer software may include information about the medicine, the injection process, and other information relevant to a treatment regime. In some cases, the receiving device may transmit information stored by the computer software for storage and analysis.

  • Publication number: 20150148757
Abstract: The present invention provides a cannula comprising of a core needle and a sleeve, the core needle and sleeve spaced by conduit-forming projections. The projections may be aligned axially along the surface of the core needle or the inner surface of the sleeve. Engagement of the core needle with a sleeve forms a composite needle having one or multiple conduits for fluid transfer the length of the cannula. Engagement of the core needle and sleeve may be enhanced with different engagement means. Preferably the core needle and sleeve comprise of polymeric materials. The invention most advantageously can be produced without the need for a core pin in the formation of the core needle or sleeve. A composite needle may incorporate a sharp tip for penetration of materials and a side port for transfer of fluids. Alternatively, the composite needle may be blunt at the tip.

  • Publication number: 20120179096
Abstract: The invention provides methods and apparatus for reconstituting fluids and substances and injecting the reconstituted materials. Apparatus may include an injection needle having a hub, a draw-up needle having a hub, and a safety cap for engagement with a syringe barrel or reservoir for transfer and/or reconstitution and injection of fluids. The apparatus includes engagement means for securely engaging the hubs of the needles and/or cap to minimise inadvertent pricks with either of the needles during the filling of a syringe with reconstituted materials and injecting the materials. Preferably the engagement means incorporates a channel on one hub and a protrusion on the other hub. The system may incorporate a second bore for quick draw-up of materials and fluids for injection. Preferably, the apparatus comprises of polymeric materials which can be injection moulded. The invention includes methods for drawing-up and reconstituting fluids for injection.

  • Publication number: 20110254202
Abstract: The present invention provides apparatus and methods for injection moulding polymeric articles. The method includes injecting pressurised liquid polymer into a mould cavity, the cavity incorporating a core pin and a pressure distribution means. Preferably the article is a cannula. The invention provides a mould for injection moulding articles from polymeric materials, the mould comprising at least two parts defining a cavity having a conduit portion incorporating a needle portion; a channel for liquid polymer ingress; a channel for pressurised fluid ingress; a core pin for defining the conduit of a cannula, and a pressure distribution means for controlling the distribution of the pressurised liquid polymer. The end surface of the pressure distribution means defines the tip geometry of the cannula. The mould may incorporate a plurality of cavities. The method includes moving the pressure distribution means in a controlled manner to define the conduit of the cannula.
