Abstract: A method and packing machine for combining an insert and a group of cigarettes; the group of cigarettes is fed to a first seat of a pocket, which first seat is designed to house the group of cigarettes; the insert is fed to a second seat of the pocket, which second seat is designed to house the insert and is separate from the first seat; and the group of cigarettes and the insert are expelled together from the pocket by a common ejector device, so as to combine the insert with the group of cigarettes.

Abstract: A method and machine for packing packets, whereby, as two packets are fed singly and successively along a path from an input station to an output station, respective sheets of packing material are folded about the two packets to form respective wrappings; the two packets, enclosed in the respective wrappings, are brought into contact with each other to form a group of packets, and are again fed from the input station to the output station, while a further sheet of packing material is folded about the group of packets.

Abstract: A machine for packing a product in at least one sheet of packing material has a number of conveyors, each of which has a number of pockets, each for receiving and conveying a respective product; the products are transferred from each conveyor to the next conveyor at a transfer station defined between the two conveyors; the pockets on each conveyor are divided into a first number of groups, each containing an equal second number, greater than one, of pockets; and, at each transfer station, a second number of products are transferred simultaneously from the pockets in a group of pockets on the releasing conveyor to the pockets in a group of pockets on the receiving conveyor.

Abstract: A method and device for forming a stack of n packets, whereby the packets, fed successively in a substantially horizontal direction to an input of a substantially vertical conveyor channel, are stacked by being lifted, along the conveyor channel, by an n-start screw push device rotating about an axis substantially parallel to the conveyor channel; the stack so formed is extracted from an output of the conveyor channel, in a radial output direction with respect to the axis of the screw push device, by a comb extractor movable along an annular path extending through the conveyor channel.

Abstract: A method of transferring groups of cigarettes on a packing machine, whereby a group of cigarettes, as it travels along a first path, is arrested in a pickup position inside a transfer station, in which a gripper device, after being closed about the group of cigarettes, is moved in a given transfer direction to transfer the group of cigarettes from the pickup position to a release position along a second path, and is opened to release the group of cigarettes in the release position.

Abstract: Packets of cigarettes appearing prismatic in shape with a triangular cross section are ordered side by side and in direct contact one with another to form a group alignable on a predominating longitudinal axis, with the axes of the single packets transverse to the direction of alignment. The assembled group of packets is prismatic in shape, with a longitudinal section of trapezoidal appearance, and wrapped in a rigid carton aligned likewise on the predominating longitudinal axis, similarly prismatic and presenting a longitudinal profile of isosceles trapezoidal outline.
