  • Publication number: 20160122049
Abstract: A method and apparatus for wrapping a folio ream. The method includes pre-creasing a wrap sheet and driving the ream into the wrap sheet toward a fold position. A bubble of wrap is formed in the wrap sheet, which is cut while the ream advances, such that a lower flap of the wrap sheet extends beyond the rear edge of the ream. An upper flap fold is formed on the rear edge of the ream, and glue is applied to the lower flap as it is held flat via a vacuum. The lower flap of the wrap sheet is then folded in an upward direction, while the vacuum simultaneously applies a force to an opposite side of the lower flap to keep it flat during folding. The ream is reversed to compress the glue between the lower and upper flaps, forming a rear edge seam on the folio ream.

  • Patent number: 7032365
Abstract: The wrapping of groups of products positioned according to a determined number of mutually superposed layers is achieved by feeding in succession groups of products firstly into a tubular case made to heat-sealable material and, then, to a first wrapping device when the number of layers is equal to one and to a second wrapping device when the number of layers is at least equal to two; the two wrapping devices being able to wrap each group inside a related wrapping sheet, which is folded substantially in contact with the related group, and which is stabilized by means of sealing operations.

  • Publication number: 20050230899
Abstract: A ream is selected and separated from a stack of sheets by a separating member which is inserted into the stack at an insertion region defined by images acquired by a television camera moved vertically to cover a given scanning region of the stack. In some embodiments, a focused portion of each image acquired by the television camera is located as a function of the location in the image of a line projected onto the stack at an angle of incidence of other than 90°.

  • Patent number: 6923311
Abstract: The apparatus is formed of two identical devices (A, A?) installed mirror image-fashion, each of which is equipped with a pressure bar (19, 19?) fitted to overhang the relevant lateral toothed conveyor belts (T, T?) which move and recircle the sai bars, and which are in their turn activated by relevant motors (8, 8?) with electronic speed and phase control governed by one programmable processing unit (26). When the length of the products (P) is less than the length of the straight branches of the conveyors moving the said bars, the two devices are installed mirror-image fashion, with the axles of the pulleys of one conveyor aligned with those of the corresponding pulleys of the other conveyor. In this position, the bars (19, 19?) of the two devices alternate in taking, moving foward by pushing and the final placing of the product in the workstation (K).

  • Patent number: 6868957
Abstract: The thrust bars (11), which are placed behind the product in the transfer phase from a first transport line (L1) to a downstream line (L2), have an adjustable stop (12) resting against the one side of the product in the direction of travel of this product. Articulated joints (10, 10?), connect the ends of the bars to corresponding points of the upper branch or the lower branch of a parallel pair of toothed belt conveyors (T, T?) fed on pulleys with horizontal axles, which are inclined at a right angle to the conveyors (T,T?) which bridge the area between the two transport lines and which with their one branch, work in the direction running from the upstream line to the downstream line at an identical speed to each other such as to be able to effect, with the above-mentioned bars, the transfer of products from one conveyor belt to the other by rear and side thrust.

  • Patent number: 6851919
Abstract: Equipment for superimposing layers of products to be packaged (P), comprising: a feed surface (12) associated to a first product-feed device (18); and a pair of preparation surfaces (24, 26) set on top of one another and designed to receive each a respective layer of products to be packaged (P), the preparation surfaces (24, 26) being associated each to a respective feed device (36, 38), the said feed devices (36, 38) being designed to cause synchronized advance of corresponding layers of products (P) along the preparation surfaces (24, 26). Both of the preparation surfaces (24, 26) are mobile so as to bring alternately the respective product-intake end (28, 30) into a position corresponding to the product-output end (16) of the feed surface (12).
