  • Publication number: 20210283320
Abstract: A thoracic drainage system having a drainage catheter that is adapted to be inserted in the pleural space of a patient in order to drain air and/or liquids that are present in the pleural space, and a drain tube, which is connected to the drainage catheter by a connector component. The drainage catheter includes longitudinally extended channels which are open radially toward the outside of the drainage catheter and at least one port for the drainage of the liquids, in which the open channels merge. The drainage catheter includes a port having at the distal end, a drainage catheter and radial holes. The drain tube has a first outflow port which is connected, by the connector component, to the at least one port and a second outflow port which is connected, by the connector component, to the port for the drainage of the air.

  • Patent number: 11103677
Abstract: A coaxial draining tube, particularly for chest draining systems, includes an inner tube, which has a first opening, and an outer tube, which has a second opening. The inner tube is enclosed within the outer tube and has a smaller diameter than the second opening of the outer tube. The first and second tubes are mutually coupled by way of a supporting component and include one or more holes adapted to allow the passage of air from the chest cavity to the first opening of the inner tube and one or more holes adapted to allow the passage of liquids from the chest cavity to the second opening of the outer tube. The one or more holes are provided in the portion of the coaxial draining tube that is intended to be inserted in the chest cavity of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20120209203
Abstract: A medical device for applying catheters, particularly for thoracentesis procedures, comprising a hollow supporting element which can be gripped ergonomically and accommodates a selector which is adapted to connect at least three openings defined in the supporting element, the first opening being functionally associated with a cannula adapted to be inserted in the body of a patient, the second opening and the third opening being able to be functionally associated respectively with two closure elements or with at least one of a syringe and a collection bag, a sharp-tipped needle being slidingly insertable in the cannula and having such a length as to pass through at least all of the cannula and protrude from it, the device further comprising a fourth opening defined in the supporting element on the side opposite the first opening for extraction or insertion of the sharp-tipped needle respectively from and into the cannula.

  • Patent number: 6514232
Abstract: A vacuum adjustment valve, particularly for thoracic drainage devices, which comprises a valve body arranged in the air intake duct and tuning a first region connected to the intake duct and a second region connected to the drainage device. A regulator is arranged between the regions, is struck by the air stream and is operatively connected to a flow control element which controls a port for connection between the second region and an environment at atmospheric pressure. Adjustable elastic closure elements act on the flow control element.
