Abstract: A clasp for a necklace including a string, the clasp being configured to join a first and second free end of a string, the clasp including a first part; and a second part, the clasp being transitionable between an open condition and a closed condition, the first and second parts including surfaces that are configured to be releasably attached to one another by a magnetic connection; the first and second parts being magnetically attracted to one another, the closed condition being when the surfaces of the first and second parts are positioned on one another and the open condition being when then surfaces of the first and second parts are spaced apart from one another; and the first and second parts each including a throughhole extending lengthwise along an axis extending along a length of the first and second parts, the surfaces of the first and second part being generally transverse to the axis, the throughhole being configured to receive and secure a portion of the string therein.
