  • Patent number: 8744606
Abstract: A receiving device for mobile reception of a receive signal including an audio signal associated with a currently received piece of music, and a method for playback in a mobile receiver are disclosed. A receiving circuit receives the receive signal and outputs the audio signal and information associated with the audio signal. The information includes one or more information fields associated with the currently received piece of music. An arithmetic unit evaluates the information associated with the audio signal. A database is configured for storing database entries. Each database entry includes data fields and associated audio data. The arithmetic unit assigns the information to an assigned database entry by comparing the information fields with the data fields. The arithmetic unit outputs the audio data of the assigned database entry based on a detected disturbance in the reception of the audio signal.

  • Publication number: 20140037067
Abstract: A method for asynchronous operation of a rotary anode of an x-ray emitter, where a torque is exerted onto the rotary anode by an electromagnetic alternating field of a stator with a first frequency is provided. The method includes increasing the first frequency to a second frequency. The second frequency is a whole number multiple of an x-ray trigger frequency. • Publication number: 20130251157
Abstract: A system for reproducing an audio signal may start a selection mode to retrieve the audio signal based on a first user input, and reproduce, in the selection mode, a first audio signal and a second audio signal. The system may filter the first audio signal and the second audio signal in the selection mode so that the first audio signal at a first location and the second audio signal at a second location are separated acoustically in a virtual acoustic space by the filtering. In the selection mode, in order to select the first audio signal the first location in the virtual acoustic space may be positioned acoustically closer to a listening position of a user than the second location of the second audio signal. The selection mode may end, if a time out of a time counter is detected.

  • Publication number: 20130129036
Abstract: An arrangement for the active vibration compensation of an x-ray emitter includes a counteracting vibration generation unit arranged outside of the x-ray emitter for reducing a vibration produced during operation of the x-ray emitter. The counteracting vibration generation unit is actively connected to the x-ray emitter and generates a counteracting vibration that is phase-shifted by 180 degrees relative to the vibration. By attaching active counteracting vibrators in the vicinity of the vibration generator, vibrations generated by the x-ray emitter are directly reduced at the source. A further transfer of vibrations to other system parts such as a C-arm 6 is reduced and/or prevented.

  • Publication number: 20130028425
Abstract: A system for decoding a stereo multiplex signal, including one or more devices operable to convert the stereo multiplex signal into a sum signal (L+R) and a difference signal (L?R). The sum signal and the difference signal may be derived from a left stereo signal (L) and right stereo signal (R). The system may also be operable to determine a first transfer function HL(f) and a second transfer function (HR(f)) from the sum signal (L+R) and the difference signal (L?R). Further, the system may be operable to filter the sum signal (L+R) according to the first transfer function to provide the left stereo signal (L), and filter the sum signal (L+R) according to the second transfer function to provide the right stereo signal (R).

  • Publication number: 20120294412
Abstract: In an arrangement and method for active vibration compensation of an x-ray radiator, a counter-vibration generation unit is arranged within the x-ray radiator to reduce a vibration arising during operation of the x-ray radiator. The counter-vibration generating unit is engaged in an active connection with the x-ray radiator and generates a counter-vibration that is phase-shifted by 180 degrees relative to the operational vibration. Operational vibrations generated by the x-ray radiator can be directly reduced at the point of origin by the application of active counter-vibrations in the immediate proximity of the vibration generator. Additional vibration transmission to other system parts (for example a C-arm) is thereby reduced or prevented.

  • Patent number: 8270928
Abstract: A radio receiver may determine whether a received frequency modulated radio signal includes interference from an adjacent channel. The receiver may compare a frequency deviation above the center frequency of the received signal to a frequency deviation below the center frequency of the received signal. The receiver determines that the radio signal is affected by adjacent channel noise when the frequency deviation below the center frequency is substantially different from the frequency deviation above the center frequency. Alternatively, the presence of noise from an adjacent channel may be detected by comparing a positive amplitude and a negative amplitude of a demodulated version of the frequency modulated radio signal. In this alternative, the receiver determines that the radio signal is affected by adjacent channel noise when the extent of the positive amplitude is substantially different from the extent of the negative amplitude.

  • Patent number: 7305225
Abstract: A motor vehicle entertainment system includes a radio receiver and a control unit. The control unit receives a first status signal indicative of whether or not a motor vehicle door has been unlocked and initiates the application of power to the radio receiver upon the first status signal indicating that the door has been unlocked. Upon the application of power to the radio receiver, the radio receiver scans through a selected frequency spectrum to identify valid frequencies and their associated broadcast identifying information and stores a list of the valid frequencies and their associated broadcast identifying information in a memory device associated with the radio receiver. The radio receiver acquires and records information on a plurality of transmitters initially in a standby mode before it switches over to an operating mode. The radio receiver has a device for receiving an ON command from the user and switches from the standby mode to the operating mode when the ON command is received.

  • Patent number: 7254378
Abstract: A system for decoding data, such as travel and traffic information, configured in data blocks embedded in an electromagnetic signal, such as a broadcasted radio signal, has been developed. The system includes a method and receiver for decoding the data with a background tuner in a manner that does not impair the ability of the background tuner to demodulate other signals. While a main tuner is tuned to demodulate a first electromagnetic signal to produce a data stream, the background tuner is switched to decode the data blocks only when the data blocks are expected to be received. In the remaining time, the background tuner is free to demodulate other signals to support a diversity or other function. If a data block is not received, or not received when expected, the background tuner returns to demodulating one or more other frequencies after a predetermined time interval has elapsed.
