  • Publication number: 20090200186
Abstract: A catheter assembly is provided comprising a catheter including a catheter tube and a connector arranged in one end of the catheter tube. The catheter is preferably a urinary, hydrophilic catheter. Further, the assembly comprises a catheter receptacle, a compartment accommodating the wetting fluid, the compartment being an integrated part of the receptacle but is separated from the cavity, the separation between the wetting fluid compartment and the cavity accommodating the catheter providing a rupturable sealed enclosure with at least one point of weakness.

  • Publication number: 20090200187
Abstract: A catheter assembly includes a catheter, part of which forms an insertable length to be inserted through a body opening and a catheter receptacle to accommodate at least part of the catheter such that an insertable portion of the catheter is enclosed but part of the catheter is left outside of the receptacle. Also disclosed is a method for producing a catheter assembly which includes providing a receptacle having an opening, providing a catheter which has a catheter tube and a connector on one end thereof, arranging the catheter tube in the receptacle, and connecting the receptacle to the connector to close the opening.

  • Patent number: 7513571
Abstract: A seat assembly includes a seat element constituting a component of the seat structure of a motor vehicle seat, a tubular drive element connected pivotably around its longitudinal axis to the seat element that constitutes a component of a displacement arrangement for an adjustable seat part, for example, for a height adjustable seat cushion, as well as a preferably electrically operated weight sensor for the detection of seat occupancy using the weight of a person sitting in the corresponding motor vehicle seat. Through the detection of seat occupancy, it is possible to control various functional groups of a motor vehicle as a function of seat occupancy, such as, for example, automatic occupancy- and/or weight-dependent adjustment of certain seat components as well as the occupancy- and/or weight-dependent deployment of an airbag module.

  • Publication number: 20090072921
Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for polar modulation without analog filters. Digitals filters, a second order hold interpolator and a reconfigurable third order noise shaper can be used instead of the analog filters used in conventional polar modulators. The polar modulator receives either receives the input in polar coordinates or converts the signal into polar phase and amplitude components. The phase and amplitude components are processed separately using digital signal processing components including digital filters, PLL, interpolator and noise shaper. The processed phase and amplitude components are then mixed to generate the modulated signal.

  • Publication number: 20080226008
Abstract: The illustrative embodiments provide accurate time-based counters for scaling operating frequencies of microprocessors. A time-based counter circuit configuration in which a fixed frequency clock is derived from a PLL of the clock generation circuit of the microprocessor and is used to feed the external and internal timebase logic as well as a timebase accumulator counter. The timebase accumulator counter accumulates the tick events from the timebase logic between two core clocks. The accumulated value is transferred to the core clock domain on every clock edge of a scalable clock and the accumulator is then reset. Because the accumulated ticks are transferred to the core clock domain before the accumulator is reset, no ticks are ever lost using the circuitry of the illustrative embodiment.

  • Patent number: 7404537
Abstract: A device for guiding two sub-assemblies of a motor vehicle displaceable in relation to one another. Said device comprises two guide elements positioned at a distance from one another in a transversal direction that is perpendicular to the guide direction and two guide units, in which a respective guide element is mounted so that it is displaceable in the guide direction. The guide elements are intercoupled and stops are allocated to the guide elements on the guide units, said stops limiting a displacement of the guide elements in relation to the respective guide units in the transversal direction, perpendicular to the guide direction. A first of the two guide elements in the allocated guide unit is mounted perpendicularly to the guide direction with a negligible displacement margin. The second guide element is mounted in the allocated guide unit with a greater displacement margin in the transversal direction.

  • Publication number: 20080173813
Abstract: A manipulator for use in e.g. a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) is described, said manipulator capable of rotating and translating a sample holder (4). The manipulator clasps the round sample holder between two members (3A, 3B), said members mounted on actuators (2A, 2B). Moving the actuators in the same direction results in a translation of the sample holder, while moving the actuators in opposite directions results in a rotation of the sample holder.

  • Patent number: 7248218
Abstract: In order to improve the reliability and the accuracy of a position-finding method such as the GPS method, the quality of a radio link which is used for the position-finding method is determined by estimating a parameter, in particular the Rice factor of the amplitude distribution density, which is characteristic of the ratio of the strength of a signal transmitted via a line-of-sight path, with respect to the strength of the signals transmitted via non-line-of-sight paths.

  • Publication number: 20060262835
Abstract: In a method for estimating a frequency deviation between a received spread-spectrum code signal and a local frequency signal, the received spread-spectrum code signal is despread using a local spread-spectrum code. The despread signal is integrated over a particular integration period. From at least two successively obtained integration values, a phase change value characteristic of the phase change between the two integration values is calculated. From this, the frequency deviation is determined.

  • Publication number: 20060240069
Abstract: A use in a medical device of at least one salt of organic acid(s), and preferably a benzoate or a sorbate, as an antimicrobial agent is disclosed, and in particular for the manufacturing of an antimicrobial coating for a medical device for the prevention of bacterial infection. This is very useful in medical devices having a hydrophilic coating, such hydrophilic urinary catheters. It is further preferred that the pH of the hydrophilic coating is controlled to be in the range 4.0-8.0, and preferably in the range 5.0-6.0. It is also preferred that the pH of the hydrophilic coating is controlled to be below 7.0. The pH of the hydrophilic coating could be controlled by means of a pH buffer, and preferably a citrate or phosphate buffer. Specifically, the provision of the salt of organic acid in combination with a pH buffer has proven surprisingly efficient for inhibition of bacterial growth, and for prevention of bacterial infections.
