Abstract: A test assembly for testing a radar sensor includes: a receptacle for the radar sensor, wherein the radar sensor is configured to transmit a radar signal; at least one receive antenna configured to receive the radar signal; at least two transmit antennas each configured to transmit one reflection signal, wherein a superposition signal, which is a superposition of the reflection signals is receivable by the radar sensor; and a computer configured to ascertain at least one parameter of the respective reflection signals on the basis of the received radar signal. The test assembly comprises more transmit antennas than receive antennas.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for providing smoke detectors are described herein. One smoke detector of a fire sensing system includes a circuit board body, having a set of front scattering emitting light sources located on one side of an optical chamber, a receiver of front scattering light beams from the front scattering emitting light sources and backward scattering light beams, and a set of backward scattering emitting light sources located between the set of front scattering emitting light sources and the receiver, the backward scattering light beams emitted from the backward scattering emitters.

Abstract: A device for a tissue channel includes a device frame, a shape memory polymer foam segment coupled to the device frame, and an attachment structure coupled to the device frame. The device frame includes a proximal structure, a distal structure, and an intermediate structure coupled to the proximal structure and the distal structure. The proximal structure is configured to collapse to fit into a delivery structure and expand to block migration of the proximal structure. The distal structure is configured to collapse to fit into the delivery structure and expand to block migration of the distal structure. The intermediate structure is configured to fit in the tissue channel upon device deployment. The shape memory polymer foam segment is configured to compress to fit into the delivery structure and occlude the channel. The attachment structure is configured to attach and detach the device from a delivery guide.

Abstract: Methods for inducing a sustained immune response against phosphorylated Tau in humans are described. The methods include administering to the subject an effective amount of liposomes including a toll-like receptor 4 agonist, a helper T-cell epitope, a lipidated CpG oligonucleotide, and a Tau phosphopeptide presented on the surface of the liposome to thereby obtain the sustained immune response.

Abstract: The present application describes a payload management system that routes a payload item associated with an individual from an origin to a destination. In some examples, the payload item is routed from the origin to the destination separate from a travel itinerary associated with the individual. For example, the payload item can be routed via a vehicle other than a VTOL aircraft that is assigned to the individual for a multi-modal transportation service.

Abstract: A modular dispenser includes a cartridge configured to hold a plurality of pills. A dispensing base is configured to removably receive the cartridge. The dispensing base includes a funnel with a funnel inlet proximate the opening of the cartridge and a funnel outlet spaced apart from the funnel inlet. A drawer is configured to receive the at least one pill from the funnel outlet in a well and is configured to be slidably received within the dispensing base. A metering flap may be movably positioned between the funnel outlet and the well of the drawer. The metering flap is pivotably coupled to at least one of the funnel and the dispensing base and may be configured to one of a) at least partially block and b) fully block the funnel outlet when the drawer is slidably extended away from the dispensing base.

Abstract: Disclosed are speculum embodiments and related methods to comfortably dilate a woman's vaginal canal during a pelvic exam. In one aspect, a flute having retractable rods and foldable rings are provided. The flute is configured to transition between an expanded state where the proximal and distal foldable rings are in an unfolded orientation and a collapsed state where the proximal and distal foldable rings are in a folded orientation. A handle maintains the flute in the collapsed state and, in at least one embodiment, a ring collar is provided and configured to engage the flute when the flute is in the expanded state. A light source can be provided in the flute or ring collar.

Abstract: A vertical power semiconductor device includes a silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor body having opposite first and second surfaces. The SiC semiconductor body includes a transistor cell area including gate structures, a gate pad area, and an interconnection area electrically coupling a gate electrode of the gate structures and a gate pad of the gate pad area via a gate interconnection. The vertical power semiconductor device further includes a sensor electrode and a first interlayer dielectric having a first interface to the sensor electrode and a second interface to at least one of the gate electrode or the gate interconnection. A conduction band offset at the first interface ranges from 1 eV to 2.5 eV. The vertical power semiconductor device further includes a second interface to at least one of the gate electrode or the gate interconnection. The second interlayer dielectric laterally adjoins to the first interlayer dielectric.

Abstract: A feed unit for articles includes: a first feeding device; a second feeding device for individually picking up the articles from the first feeding device at a removal location at a predetermined time interval; and a synchronization device for receiving the articles from the first feeding device and to moving the articles into the removal location. A control system is also provided, to adjust the speed of the synchronization device in such a manner that each article reaches the removal location at the predetermined time interval in order to be picked up by the second feeding device.

The vapor source includes a vapor distribution pipe with a plurality of nozzles, wherein at least one nozzle of the plurality of nozzles includes a nozzle body with a nozzle channel extending along a nozzle axis for releasing evaporated material through a nozzle orifice; and a shielding portion connected to and in thermal contact with the nozzle body, the shielding portion having an aperture for passage of a low-angle part of the evaporated material toward a substrate. At least one lateral opening is provided between the shielding portion and the nozzle body for passage of a high-angle part of the evaporated material, particularly toward a wall of a material collector. Further described are a nozzle for a vapor source and a method of depositing an evaporated material on a substrate.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for treating hydrocarbon-bearing formations previously subjected to hydraulic fracturing. In at least certain embodiments, a purpose of the treatment is to mobilize incremental oil from the formation by increasing effective Stimulated Rock Volume (eSRV) using diverters and a treatment composition that includes LPG as carrier fluid. At least some of the methods include pumping into the wellbore a treatment composition comprising LPG combined with one or more surfactants each of which is fully or partially dissolved into the LPG, causing the treatment composition to make contact with water residing in the formation such that at least a portion of the one or more surfactants dissolves into the water, and recovering a composition that includes residual hydrocarbons and at least some of the LPG and water that resided in the formation and at least some of the one or more surfactants that were pumped into the wellbore.

The layer stack includes a magnetically free layer with a magnetically free magnetization. A measurement sensitivity of the sensor element is temperature-dependent. The magnetoresistive sensor also includes a device which is configured to induce a temperature-dependent mechanical stress in the magnetically free layer. The temperature dependence of the measurement sensitivity can be at least partially compensated for by the temperature-dependent mechanical stress.
