  • Publication number: 20110126981
Abstract: Structural adhesives are prepared from an elastomeric toughener that contains urethane and/or urea groups, and have some terminal isocyanate groups that are capped with a phenol and other terminal isocyanate groups that are capped with a hydroxy-functional acrylate or a hydroxy-functional methacrylate. In certain embodiments, the presence of both types of capping on the toughener leads to higher impact peel strengths and a greater level of cohesive failure, than when the toughener is capped with a phenol an hydroxy-functional acrylate or hydroxy-functional methacrylate alone.

  • Patent number: 7616795
Abstract: A method is disclosed for, such as with the aid of a tomographic imaging facility or in particular a computer tomograph, in a number of consecutive measurement scans, acquiring an object volume of an examination object. A series of main images is obtained by reconstructing in each case one main image from measured data of each measurement scan and the main images are displayed in temporal sequence. Intermediate images are calculated in order to raise an image repetition rate and are displayed between the main images. The intermediate images are reconstructed at a prescribable instant within the measurement scan directly from a combination of the measured data, acquired up to this instant, of the respectively current measurement scan with the measured data of the respectively preceding measurement scan. The present method can be used to reduce the delay times in the display of the main images in conjunction with increased image quality of the intermediate images.

  • Publication number: 20090205818
Abstract: A downwell packer assembly includes a tubular member and a packer element mounted on the tubular member. The packer element comprises a composition that includes a polymer. The packer element includes micropores (typically created via a blowing agent). When the packer element is exposed to a swelling fluid, such as water or hydrocarbon, the micropores can help to control and, in some instances, increase the rate of swelling. Such swelling enables the packer element to form a seal against the walls of the wellbore.
