  • Patent number: 7481344
Abstract: Load carrier (1) for transporting a bicycle (2) and which is designed for being mounted to a vehicle roof (4) by means of mounting devices (3). The load carrier includes a longitudinal rail section (5) provided with connecting devices (14,15) for connection to the mounting devices and securing devices (6) for securing the wheels (7,8) of the loaded bicycle, a retaining arm (16) pivotable arranged relative to the rail and provided with a claw grip (17) having a first and a second jaw (18 and 19 respectively) which jaws are lateral (T) to the longitudinal direction of the rail section (L) and arranged so as to form a gap (51) facing the side (S) of the longitudinal rail section from which side the bicycle is loaded.

  • Publication number: 20070210127
Abstract: A bicycle fork mount for receiving and securing a front axle hub assembly of a through-axle type front bicycle wheel, but which is also temporarily adaptable for receiving a fork of a skewer type front bicycle wheel includes a fork mount body having a hollow for insertably receiving a front axle hub assembly of a through-axle front bicycle wheel. An adapter is received in the hollow and has a fork receiving skewer associated therewith that is configured for translational movement relative to the adapter. A biasing assembly is disposed between the adapter and the skewer and urges the skewer toward an ends-extended configuration in which a pair of fork receiving ends of the skewer are oppositely disposed beyond the lateral sides of the fork mount body and are configured for receiving and releasably securing the fork of a bicycle having a skewer type front wheel to the bicycle fork mount.

  • Patent number: 7240815
Abstract: An arrangement for securing a load carrier to a transporting vehicle that includes an anchor mechanism adapted for securement to a transporting vehicle and for releasable engagement with a carrier foot. The carrier foot has a latching mechanism for releasable engagement with the anchor mechanism. The latching mechanism is adapted for latching engagement to, and disengagement from the anchor mechanism by movement of the carrier foot in a direction substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the carrier foot. An example of such movement is vertical movement substantially of an up and down nature. The latching mechanism has a latching and an unlatching configuration and the latching mechanism is urged toward the latching configuration by a resilient biasing mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050263554
Abstract: A securing device (4) usable in conjunction with a load carrier (1) and with which the load carrier is attached to a load carrier bar (5) mounted on a vehicle. Most frequently, such load carrier bars (5) are located on the roof (7) of a vehicle by way of mounting devices (6). Exemplarily, such securing device includes a base part (8) having an essentially flat face (9) designed to be placed on the load carrier bar. A clamping yoke (10) is also included that encloses the load carrier bar and which, at a first end (11) has a pivot arrangement (12) that is pivotably engaged with the base part. At a second end, clamping yoke (10) is attached to the base part by a tightening device (15) which tightens the clamping yoke about the load carrier bar and wherein the clamping yoke (10) is provided with a bow-shaped contact area (21) for engagement with the load carrier bar (5).

  • Patent number: 6296162
Abstract: A cycle carrier that includes a gripping device (6) which engages with and fixedly retains a portion of a cycle. Further, the cycle carrier includes an operating device (7) with which the gripping device (6) is maneuvered between its closed and its open position. The gripping device (6) is openable against a spring pretensioning which, when it is released, transfers the gripping device (6) to an abutment position against the cycle. The abutment position is determined by the thickness of the fixedly held portion of the cycle. The operating device (7) includes means (15) for transferring the gripping device (6) to a clamping position. In the clamping position, the gripped portion of the cycle is fixedly clamped in the gripping device (6).
