  • Publication number: 20110277906
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for axial joining of a hybrid joining component to a workpiece, wherein the joining component has a thermoplastic joining section and a metal section which can be heated, having the following steps: moving the joining component into contact with a surface of the workpiece; heating of the metal section such that the joining section at least partially melts; ending the heating of the metal section such that the joining component makes a force-fitting, interlocking and/or integral connection with the surface of the workpiece. In this case, the joining component is held with a regulated force and/or in a regulated position with respect to the workpiece at least during the heating of the metal section, in such a manner that the joining component can be joined to the surface of the workpiece without any opposing support.

  • Publication number: 20110182541
Abstract: A wheel bearing unit having which has an outer ring, one or two inner rings and load-transmitting rolling elements arranged between the two rings. An orbitally formed shoulder of a wheel hub is provided for the pre-stressing of the wheel bearing unit via the inner ring, and a toothed ring which has an outward-facing radial tooth system is arranged on the inner ring, as is usual in wheel bearing units with all-wheel drive capability. The wheel bearing unit has a small axial width which benefits the handling characteristics of a vehicle by attaching the toothed ring to the orbitally formed shoulder and transmitting the drive torques via this attachment. Welding and a plastically formed tooth system on the orbitally formed shoulder are proposed as examples of such fastening.

  • Publication number: 20110127366
Abstract: The invention relates to an automatic system for maneuvering aircraft on the ground, based on driverless towing vehicles, (hereafter AGTV's), which can independently hold the undercarriage of the aircraft. In said system the AGTVs pull the aircraft from transfer areas on the taxiways of the runways to the stand and vice versa, allowing the propulsion systems of the aircraft to remain switched off during the taxiing process. The driverless AGTVs receive their driving jobs from a computer-aided guidance and management system which controls the AGTV fleet in a collision- and conflict-free manner.

  • Publication number: 20110124421
Abstract: A method for producing a tubular drive shaft is described, comprising a first section with a first diameter and a second section with a second diameter, said second diameter being smaller than the first diameter, and a transition section in which a diameter of said drive shaft diminishes from the first diameter to the second diameter and which is provided with an annular bead which coaxially surrounds a longitudinal axis of said drive shaft, and in the process of which method, a tube with the first diameter is reshaped and reduced in diameter to form the second section and the transition section. According to the invention it is provided that the bead is formed during, after, or during a break in the reshaped process that results in the production of a second section with a second diameter.

  • Publication number: 20080240629
Abstract: A multi-layer film bag with fusible inner layer has gussets fused to front and rear bag walls. Upper end areas of the gussets are folded over toward one bag wall at a folding line to form folded-over end areas. The folding line is oriented at a slant inwardly and downwardly. The inner side of the folded-over end areas is fused by a first welding seam to an inner side of a neighboring gusset half. The outer side of the folded-over end areas is fused by a second welding seam to a neighboring bag wall. An area of the neighboring gusset half adjoining the folded-over end areas is fused by a third welding seam to a neighboring bag wall. The first, second, and third welding seams form a fused connection closing off the top edges of the folded-over end areas.
