    Abstract: A spring strut including a work cylinder with a slider in the work cylinder. Electrical contacts are applied on the slider and cylinder and in an inward stroke, a first electrical loop, which extends via the slider, is electrically closed and a second electric loop is broken. In an outward stroke, the second electric loop is closed via the slider, and the first loop is opened. Thus, with the aid of an electrical circuit, it is simple and easy to recognize whether the work cylinder is operating in an inward or in an outward stroke.
