  • Publication number: 20070168157
Abstract: A method and system estimates a desired output signal waveform based on measured state parameters. A model training step generates a model by empirically obtaining measured signal waveforms corresponding to measured state parameters. Features, such as mode shapes and mode amplitudes, are extracted from the measured signals and stored in an estimation model along with coefficients of the model that correlate measured state parameters with the mode amplitudes. During part operation, the state parameters measured during operation are entered into the estimation model to obtain estimated features in a estimated signal waveform. The estimated features are then used to synthesize the estimated signal reflecting the actual operation of the operating part. The estimation model therefore allows estimation of an entire signal waveform from the state parameters.

  • Publication number: 20060293688
Abstract: A quick-release guide assembly for an external fixation system has a body with at least one hole and a handle portion with a handle bar. The device body comprises at least one extension having a first coupling portion. The handle comprises a complementary second coupling portion, wherein one coupling portion comprising a spring actuated locking pin, wherein an actuator knob is provided to release the locking pin. Therefore the coupling portion of the handle can be releasably attached to the guide body, enabling a quick change of device bodies having different oriented and arranged holes.

  • Publication number: 20060241618
Abstract: The invention relates to an implantable orthopaedic device comprising a load-bearing element, such as a bone plate, for fixing elements, such as bone screws, that can be oriented polyaxially. The load-bearing element is equipped with at least one opening for the passage of the fixing elements. A two part insert is provided in the opening, the insert having an external form that complements the internal form of the receiving opening and permits the polyaxial rotation of the insert in the opening. The insert is equipped with a central bore for receiving the body of the fixing element. The first insert element part has a central inner hollow chamber, into which the second insert element part can be introduced.

  • Publication number: 20060177264
Abstract: An external fixation device for the extension of the distance between two clamping members of an external fixator has a central internal rod and an outer hollow housing. The internal rod is movable axially. One end of the internal rod projects over the one end of the housing, and serves to fix the one clamping member. An adjusting member is provided disposed at the other end of the housing and is connected with internal rod and/or the outer hollow housing, whereby the axial position of the interior shaft can be adjusted in relation to the housing by means of rotation of the adjusting member. Furthermore, an adjusting knob is provided that can be detachably attached to the adjusting member with an essentially positive fit.

  • Patent number: 6547791
Abstract: The tibia nail comprises a tube including a continuous longitudinal bore and includes a proximal anchoring portion with several cross-bores, an adjoining connecting portion which is flexurally resilient in an anterior and posterior direction, a shank adjoining it, and a distal anchoring portion. The anchoring portion is bent away with respect to the shank and has an elongated hole through which a locking screw may be placed. The tibia may be compressed by means of a compression screw inserted into a longitudinal threaded bore. The tibia nail enables retrograde implantation, which has been considered to be impossible for the tibia up to now.
