  • Publication number: 20230388251
Abstract: Tightly-coupled, loosely connected distributed systems can be implemented more energy efficient and optimized for computational overhead via multi-protocol heterogeneous packet-based transport. When receiving a plurality of packets from a root complex where contents of each packet from the plurality of packets organized in accordance with a first protocol, a sequence number is added to each packet and a packet type is identified. Every packet in the first plurality of packets is encapsulated into at least one packet organized in accordance with a second protocol to form a second plurality of packets organized in accordance with the second protocol. All the packets from the second plurality of packets can be handled via Direct Memory Access. A write-only communication scheme can be implemented using doorbell and command registers for more efficient data reading and writing in distributed systems.

  • Patent number: 11695708
Abstract: Deterministic real-time multi-protocol heterogeneous packet-based transport is achieved by traffic shaping. All the packets from the second plurality of packets pass traffic scheduling or traffic shaping prior being sent via a plurality of connections to avoid burstiness and to achieve bounded transport latency in the plurality of connections, thereby providing deterministic real-time behavior in distributed systems.

  • Patent number: 11448768
Abstract: The proposed method for operating a laser distance measuring device, in particular a hand-held laser distance measuring device, is based on a method in which laser radiation is emitted to a target point by means of an emitter unit, laser radiation reflected back from the target point is detected by a receiver unit with a detection surface, at least one image of at least one target environment of the target point is captured by at least one camera, and a representation of the image, overlaid with a marking of the target point, is displayed on a screen of the laser distance measuring device. According to the disclosure, a parallax error in the representation of the image, overlaid with a marking of the target point, is corrected according to an estimated distance to the target point. The disclosure also relates to a corresponding laser distance measuring device.

  • Patent number: 11356388
Abstract: Deadlocks in a multi-protocol heterogeneous packet-based transport system are avoided while maintaining real-time aspects. All the packets from the second plurality of packets are sent via a plurality of connections so that each connection from the plurality of connections only transports packets from the second plurality of packets that encapsulate packets from the first plurality that have a same packet type.

  • Patent number: 10476352
Abstract: A housing configuration for an electric machine includes a housing having a stator receiving region with a wall. A stator is disposed in the stator receiving region of the housing and a sleeve is pushed onto the stator. A cooling jacket surrounds the stator for liquid cooling of the stator. The cooling jacket has a radially outer cooling-jacket surface and a radially inner cooling-jacket surface with a gap between the radially outer cooling-jacket surface and the radially inner cooling-jacket surface. The wall of the stator receiving region forms the radially outer cooling-jacket surface of the cooling jacket. The sleeve forms the radially inner cooling-jacket surface of the cooling jacket. Bilaterally acting seal carriers are inserted into the gap between the radially outer cooling-jacket surface and the radially inner cooling-jacket surface. The bilaterally acting seal carriers provide an axial sealing of the cooling jacket. An electric machine is also provided.
