  • Patent number: 7602506
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for contactlessly and dynamically detecting the profile of a solid body. At least one light beam is generated by a laser device and expanded to form a linear light band projected onto the moving surface of the solid body. Light reflected from the surface of the solid body is focused in an imaging device whose optical axis is at a fixed triangulation angle to the direction of projection of the laser device and which is arranged at a fixed based distance from the laser device. The reflected light is detected by a planar light receiving element at a frequency that is high by comparison with a speed of movement (v) of the solid body after which the measured values of the profile are obtained as a function of the triangulation angle and the base distance.

  • Publication number: 20080204765
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for contactless dynamic detection of the profile of a solid body, particularly a moving one, a laser beam, expanded to form a linear light band, from a laser device being projected onto a region of the surface of the solid body, and the light reflected therefrom being focused in an imaging device, whose optical axis is at a fixed triangulation angle to the projection direction of the laser device and that is arranged at a fixed base distance from the laser device, and is detected by means of a planar light receiving element, in particular at a frequency that is high by compariosn with a speed of movement of the solid body, whereupon signals output by the light receiving element are used in a data processing device as a function of the triangulation angle and the base distance to obtain the measured values of the profile by means of geometric relationships, the values being stored as a profilogram.

  • Patent number: 7115202
Abstract: A method for separating a multi-phase mixture (50) into a liquid phase (54) and a dry phase (52) with a specified dry matter concentration. A decanting centrifuge (100) with an annular immersion disk (14) and a weir arranged at an end face of a centrifuge drum (20) are used. After start-up of the centrifuge drum (20), the multi-phase mixture (50) is introduced into the centrifuge drum (20). The dry phase (52) and the liquid phase (54) are drawn off. The liquid level in the centrifuge drum (20), is controlled by the weir and compared to a tolerance range until the specified dry matter concentration is reached. The weir is positioned so reaction to concentration changes in the multi-phase mixture (50) is possible in both directions. The speed of the centrifuge drum (20) is lowered incrementally and the weir position adjusted, so the dry phase concentration remains constant.

  • Publication number: 20040219065
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for separating a multi-phase mixture (50) into at least one liquid phase (54) and one dry phase (52) with a specified dry matter concentration. A decanting centrifuge (100) with an annular immersion disk (14) and a liquor weir arranged at the end face of the centrifuge drum (20) are used. After the start-up of the centrifuge drum (20) and setting a start-up tank depth, a multi-phase mixture (50) is introduced into the rotating centrifuge drum (20). The dry phase (52) and the liquid phase (54) are drawn off. The tank depth, and thus the fluid level in the centrifuge drum, is controlled by the liquor weir until a specified nominal dry matter concentration is reached. According to the invention, the tank depth is continuously compared to a tolerance range. During the process, the weir is preferably positioned such that a reaction to concentration changes in the feed is possible in both directions.

  • Patent number: 6343554
Abstract: A vehicle wheel includes a wheel hub rotatably mounted on a stationary axle and a running tread, tire or the like connected with the wheel hub. A device for connecting structural components such as, for instance, a transmission part or a brake disk, for the purpose of transmitting a torque between the wheel hub and the structural component to be connected is provided on the external end face of the wheel hub. In order to provide a modularly designed vehicle wheel easy to mount and dismount, the device for connecting structural components is applicable facultatively and a fastening device spacially separated from the device for facultatively connecting structural components is provided on the external end face of the wheel hub. The vehicle wheel may be designed as a driven wheel or a loose wheel with or without brake. By separating torque transmission and power transmission, mounting and dismounting of the vehicle wheel is substantially facilitated.

  • Patent number: 5904102
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a driven loose wheel axle with individually mounted wheels for single-axle or double-axle chassis for rail-borne vehicles, especially for chassis or bogies on low-platform vehicles, wherein a drive is fastened to the chassis frame on the outside on each longitudinal side of the chassis and the drive is connected to the corresponding loose wheel via a cardanic double coupling. According to the present invention, a wheel-carrying frame (1) with contact surfaces (14) for the primary spring system surrounds the two wheels (2) from the outside; the driven interface (3) of the cardanic double coupling is arranged on the inner side of the wheel and the drive interface of the cardanic double coupling is arranged outside the wheel-carrying frame. The cardan shaft (5) provides a connection between the drive interface and the driven interface (3) and is led through a central opening of the wheel (2) and of the wheel-carrying frame (1).

  • Patent number: 5715915
Abstract: A brake for rail cars comprises a floating caliper disc brake attached to a cylindrical housing element of a drive housing. The drive housing may be the motor housing, the transmission housing or a common housing for the drive motor and the transmission. The cylindrical housing element has an opening in its peripheral wall in which the floating caliper is mounted. The actuator is mounted in an entry in the peripheral wall of the drive housing. This mounting arrangement allows easier accessiblity to the brake during servicing operations and provides for ventilation of the brake disc.
