  • Patent number: 10464256
Abstract: A method for folding over an edge of a decorative layer, a fold-over system, a method for converting a fold-over system, and an interior trim part. To reduce cycle times and to achieve excellent quality of the produced laminated parts at the same time, a method is provided wherein the fold-over slide for fixing the edge of the decorative layer is cooled by means of an active cooling means. Alternatively or cumulatively, the fold-over slide according to the invention is heated by means of an active heating means. In a preferred embodiment, a heating fluid flows through the fold-over slide when the fold-over slide is already pressing the adhesive into the adhesive joint, such that the hot-melt adhesive is activated. Then, under persistent contact pressure, the fold-over slide is cooled until fixation occurs. Then the fold-over slide is removed, and the carrier part can be exchanged.

  • Patent number: 10093084
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for laminating components with sheets, in which an adhesive is applied to the surface of the laminating sheet and/or of the component in a grid-like manner, so that, after the sheet and the component are joined, the adhesive is arranged between the sheet and the component, and the regions between the applied adhesive form a channel system that enables the removal of the air that is present between the component and the sheet. The invention further relates to a laminated molded part obtainable by the above-outlined process. The use of an adhesive grid provided between a component and a laminating sheet results in a reduction or prevention of air inclusions when the component is laminated with a laminating sheet.

  • Publication number: 20160288402
Abstract: In order to simplify a folding process and render it more precise the invention suggests a method for folding a border of a decorative layer about an edge of a carrier part, in which the border is at least partially folded about this edge via a folding slide, and in which a fixing means in the form of an adhesive that can be activated is used to fix the border of the decorative layer in the folded state at a carrier part, with the method being characterized in that an induction source is used for activating the adhesive, which generates electromagnetic alternating fields causing eddies in an induction receiver which are converted into thermal energy.
