    Abstract: A piston may include a piston body having a piston skirt. The piston may further include at least one piston ring groove arranged in the piston skirt. A lowermost piston ring groove may be arranged in a first plane and at least one blind hole may extend at least partially from the lowermost piston ring groove into the piston body. Each blind hole may act as an oil reservoir contributing to lubrication between the piston skirt and a cylinder liner during movement of the piston.
