  • Publication number: 20160070048
Abstract: A system and an apparatus for connecting a fiber optic or rigid light guide to a light source are provided. The fiber optic or rigid light guide has one end connected to a ferrule with a contact surface. The system includes a connecting element connectable to the light source, into which the ferrule can be inserted. The connecting element has a number of radially movable fastening portions, wherein the fixing portions are radially biased and cooperate with the contact surface, when the ferrule is inserted into the connecting element, whereby a first retention force is applied to the contact surface, and a fixing element is positioned in such a way that it cooperates with the fastening portions so that a second retention force, which is greater than the first retention force, is applied to the contact surface.

  • Patent number: 8375978
Abstract: Provided herein are drainage valves for removing water accumulated in the lower part of fuel tanks of an aircraft. The valves can be affixed in correspondence with a lower skin forming part of the tanks. The lower skin includes recesses for the complementary housing of the heads of the valves that, in combination with some axial fastening nuts, immobilize the valves to that skin. The recesses can comprise a conical structure obtained by deformation of the lower skin, and with the deformation an inner elevated seat is further obtained, on which seat the axial fastening nuts press, maintaining the thickness of the skin in the area where the valves are located, thus preventing the area from weakening as it happens conventionally.

  • Publication number: 20050128486
Abstract: A device and a method for measuring a concentration of at least one component of a process gas by means of a laser is provided. The beam path of the laser penetrates a volume containing the process gas. One section of the beam path penetrates the process gas in a free manner while another section thereof is shielded from the process gas. Only the section of the beam path, which penetrates the process gas in a free manner, is designated as the section to be measured and is used for measuring the concentration by means of laser spectroscopy, exactly one absorption line being determined for said measurement.

  • Patent number: 6684678
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for extracting a die (4) from a hollow object (11) having several grooves (16, 17) arranged opposite one another on the surface of the inner sheath whereby the longitudinal axes thereof extend crosswise relative to the corresponding longitudinal central planes (i.e. cross-grooves), whereby said die (4) is part of a tool (10) having a matrix (1) for forming the hollow object (11) and several other die segments (9a, 9b) arranged opposite one another relative to the central axis (2) thereof. Each of said die segments has an outer ridge (21a, 21b); in order to form the hollow object, said die segments (9a, 9b) are expanded into a working position, whereby the ridges (21a, 21b) are fitted into corresponding grooves (16, 17), and extracted after the hollow object (11) has been formed.
