  • Patent number: 9745145
Abstract: A packing bay system for a goods checkout system has several packing bays for taking up goods, a conveying device which includes at least one conveyor belt section for conveying goods in a conveying direction, and a goods switch which is adjustably arranged on the conveying device and includes a diverting wall longitudinally extending along a direction of longitudinal extension. In a first position, the goods switch with the diverting wall extends at an angle to the conveying direction across the at least one conveyor section, in order to guide goods which on conveyance in the conveying direction get in contact with the diverting wall in a diverting direction directed parallel to the direction of longitudinal extension from the at least one conveyor section towards a first packing bay. • Patent number: 6298954
Abstract: A brake caliper has a caliper bridge and two legs that are arranged at right angles to the caliper bridge. A housing having a bore for a brake piston is mounted on one leg. The caliper bridge has at least one hollow chamber inside, which is delimited on all sides by supporting walls. Even though the brake caliper exhibits considerable flectional strength it is lightweight.

  • Patent number: 6264010
Abstract: The present invention relates to a disc brake with hydraulically operable brake pads and a mechanical actuating which includes an actuating shaft that is rotatably and sealedly mounted in a bore of a brake housing and acts upon at least one of the brake pads. The present invention focuses on that at least in the area of a shaft duct, a sealing element is provided which is fixed to the actuating shaft so as to rotate along with it and cooperates with at least one associated sealing element and/or mating sealing surfaces in a radial direction. The sealing element bridges a portion of the actuating shaft which is different from the shape of a circle.

  • Patent number: 6216832
Abstract: An integral block for non-driven and non-steerable wheels of an automotive vehicle includes a brake drum, a wheel hub, an antifriction bearing, an axle journal, and an assembly base for non-rotating components of a drum brake. The latter include brake shoes and appertaining mounting means, as well as brake cylinders, brake pistons and parts for connection to brake shoes. An assembly base made by die-casing or forging is formed as a carrier plate having an integrally molded stop for supporting the brake shoes in a circumferential direction, and either a separate, thin-walled mud plate is provided or an integrated mud ring. As opposed to conventional component groups, in which the mounting base is a plate section, the integral block of the invention can more reliably take into account varying load requirements, thereby achieving substantial reductions in weight and manufacturing costs.

  • Patent number: 6161963
Abstract: An arrangement for bearing a non-driven wheel in an automotive vehicle or the like, includes a carrier unit, a wheel hub and an anti-friction bearing. The arrangement provides thatthe wheel hub (1) is integrally formed with a trunnion;a one-piece or bipartite inner ring (2a) of the anti-friction bearing (2) is secured to the trunnion (1a), andan axle body (3) having a bore (3a) for accommodating an outer ring (2b) of the anti-friction bearing (2) is provided as the carrier unit.As the outer ring of the anti-friction bearing is arranged directly in the axle body (3), no screw operation is any longer required for securing the bearing means to the vehicle. As the inner ring is secured to the trunnion (1a) of the wheel hub (1) by roll rivets, there is no need for the otherwise required bearing adjustment during final assembly. The measures according to the invention involve the advantage that the number of components and also the efforts to be taken in the final assembly are decreased.

  • Patent number: 6152825
Abstract: A pre-assembled structural unit for driven axles of automotive vehicles, comprising a wheel flange (1), a brake disc (2), a wheel bearing (3), and a synchronizing joint including an inner part (5), an outer part (6), and an anti-friction bearing (7), can be mounted in a carrier unit (4) provided on the vehicle side. The structural unit provides that the inner part (5) of the synchronizing joint is integrally formed with a shaft journal (5a) which can be connected to the end of a driving shaft (8) in a non-rotating way.Hence, the pre-assembly interface hitherto located in the synchronizing joint is shifted toward the driving shaft so that the synchronizing joint with the sealing sleeve (10) completely mounted results in the pre-assembled unit, thereby substantially simplifying the final assembly.

  • Patent number: 5485899
Abstract: A floating-frame spot-type disc brake is described comprising a floating frame (1) guided in a manner axially displaceable on a brake carrier (12), and being furnished with two brake cylinders (2, 3) and two brake pistons (4, 5) directly acting on two axially inwardly disposed brake shoes (6, 7). The brake carrier (12) is located entirely on one side of the brake disc and no portion extends across the outer edge of the brake disc (15), so that the maximum diameter of the brake disc is limited only by the relatively thin sections of the floating frame (1) extending across the outer edge of the brake disc. Additional brake shoes (8, 9, 22), on the axially outer side, are fixed to the floating frame (1), in turn transmitting the circumferential force acting on the outer shoes occurring during braking, through a bolt guide (10), into the brake carrier (12).

  • Patent number: 5464077
Abstract: The invention is related to a spot-type disc brake with a stationary brake carrier (19) at which a floating caliper (1) is slidingly guided which straddles the edge of a brake disc (10), with two brake cylinders (11, 12) which are positioned on the internal axial side of the brake disc (10) aside each other and whose brake pistons (13, 14) act on the brake shoes (5, 7) which are arranged on the same axial side and in circumferential direction of the brake disc (10) at a distance from each other. According to the invention a third brake shoe (6) is fixed on the external axial side of the brake disc (10) to the floating caliper (1), which brake shoe is positioned staggered in such a manner that its friction area point of gravity (36) comes to be arranged substantially between the other two brake shoes (5, 7) in the circumferential direction of the brake disc (10). Braking noises and brake rubbing are eliminated by this arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5297659
Abstract: A support of a floating caliper (7) of a spot-type disc brake on an axially external brake shoe (4) is described. For the support, two carrier elements (5, 6) are disposed spaced apart laterally in the circumferential direction on the external brake shoe (4), the corner elements (5, 6) furnished with projections (8, 9) which engage two axially extending grooves (14, 15) on the inside of circumferential extensions on the floating caliper (7) and which come to be abutted against their internal guide surfaces (16, 17, 18, 19). The caliper is thereby of maximized width and rigidity while being securely supported on the external brake shoe.

  • Patent number: 4643278
Abstract: An actuating apparatus is provided for use in a disc brake. The disc brake includes a brake piston slidably accommodated in a brake cylinder. A mechanically actuatable brake lever is non-rotatably coupled to an actuating shaft. The actuating shaft is rotatably accommodated in a bore in a brake cylinder housing. A thrust member is positioned between the actuating shaft and the piston or a further actuating element. A spring preloads the brake lever in the direction of rotation toward a final position. To create an actuating apparatus easy to set-up and mount, the spring also urges the actuating shaft in an axial direction against a stop or a support.
