  • Patent number: 8709534
Abstract: A formwork release composition containing formwork release oil, which contains a hydrophobic metal oxide and/or metal sulphide component is disclosed. Photocatalytically active compounds, such as particular semiconductors and in particular TiO2, are particularly suitable. The invention also concerns the use of the formwork release composition for producing exposed concrete. The concrete and mortar products thus produced are characterized by a homogeneous surface with self-cleaning properties that gives an enhanced resistance against weathering and a much longer lasting brilliance and whiteness.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 14, 2009
Date of Patent: April 29, 2014
Assignee: Construction Research & Technology GmbH
Inventors: Andreas Eisenreich, Sergi Vilches, Andres Fernandez, Josep Gatell, Uwe Holland
  • Patent number: 8563010
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for suppressing mold formation on building parts using hydrophobic substances, wherein a dispersion of hydrophobic particles having a mean particle diameter of from 0.005 to 5 ?m in an organic dispersant is applied to the surface to be protected from mold attack and the dispersant is then removed, and to a composition for building parts which inhibits mold growth and comprises from 0.1 to 10% by weight of hydrophobic particles having a mean particle diameter of from 0.005 to 5 ?m dispersed in an organic dispersant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 2004
Date of Patent: October 22, 2013
    Assignee: Evonik Degussa GmbH
    Inventors: Edwin Nun, Andreas Eisenreich
