  • Patent number: 9835054
Abstract: An exhaust gas turbocharger may include a shaft mounted in a bearing housing carrying a compressor wheel and a turbine wheel. The shaft may include a sealing bush arranged on the shaft in a rotationally fixed manner. The sealing bush together with a bearing housing cover may at least partially delimit an annular oil centrifuging space arranged coaxially to the sealing bush. The bearing housing cover may include a guiding nib located radially outside the sealing bush partially covering the sealing bush in axial direction. The guiding nib may be configured to guide oil separated in the oil centrifuging space onto the rotating sealing bush. The rotating sealing bush may be configured to direct the oil into the oil centrifuging space in response to centrifugal force creating an oil swirl.

  • Publication number: 20120159931
Abstract: The present invention relates to an exhaust system for a combustion engine, particularly of a vehicle, with an oxidation catalytic converter (oxicat), with an electrically heatable catalytic converter (E-cat) arranged upstream of the oxicat and with a fuel injector arranged upstream of the E-cat. An energetically favourable mode of operation is achieved when a particle filter is arranged downstream of the oxicat, when a bypass path bypassing the E-cat commences downstream of the fuel injector and ends upstream of the oxicat and when the E-cat is designed for a smaller exhaust gas flow rate than the oxicat.

  • Patent number: 8011100
Abstract: In a method for producing plastic sanitary articles having surfaces metallized by electroplating, the sanitary article has at least one electrically nonconductive component, before said article is metallized by electroplating using an external current source. This component at least partially decouples the water-bearing regions of the sanitary article from the current flow during metallization by electroplating using the external current source. The component is preferably a separate component which can be reversibly connected to the sanitary article. The invention also includes the component for decoupling the current itself, and a sanitary article which is provided with the component.

  • Patent number: 7919147
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating objects, particularly plumbing fixtures, having metallic surfaces. According to the method, at least one organosilane is applied during the so-called sol-gel process after an optionally provided pretreatment step that serves to activate the metallic surfaces, and the coating obtained thereby is transformed into a polysiloxane coating. This transformation of the coating into a polysiloxane coating preferably ensues by a thermal treatment effected at temperatures of <100° C., preferably <70° C.

  • Publication number: 20100159268
Abstract: In the case of a method for producing decorative surface structures, patterns or the like on articles, in particular sanitary articles, basic bodies made of a first metal, basic bodies made of metal that are coated with a first metal or basic bodies made of plastic that are coated with a first metal are used as a basis. Then, a layer of material temporarily applied to the article is partially removed by electromagnetic radiation or by particle radiation, thereby forming a first surface structure with regions that are free from material. Subsequently, the first metal is at least partially removed in the material-free regions or the first metal or some other metal is built up in the material-free regions. This method step is followed by removal of the still present material, a second (final) surface structure being formed. Finally, further top layers can preferably be applied to the article, the second surface structure being substantially retained.

  • Patent number: 7052361
Abstract: In a method for the hydro-erosive rounding of an edge of a part, particularly an edge in a duct of a high pressure-resistant part, and a use thereof, a liquid to which abrasive elements are added is directed along the edge that is to be rounded. In order to optimize the result of the rounding process, a high-viscosity liquid is used as a liquid (10). The inventive method is used for rounding parts of a fuel injection system.

  • Publication number: 20050127205
Abstract: In a method and a device for the hydro-erosive rounding of an edge of a component, in particular, an edge in a channel of a high-pressure resistant component, a fluid charged with abrasive bodies is run along the edge for rounding and the flow speed in the vicinity of the edge for rounding is increased by means of a body arranged in the fluid flow path. With relation to the method, the flow speed of the fluid (6) is increasingly raised along the course of the body (7) until the edge (5) for rounding is reached by means of the geometry of the body (7) and, with relation to the device, the cross-sectional area of the flow channel (10) continuously declines in the direction of flow (S) of the fluid (6) along the length of the body (7) at least as far as the edge (5).
