Patent number: 7604092Abstract: In an exhaust system of a motor vehicle, a tailpipe cover is disposed on the exhaust pipe and protrudes through a cutout in the vehicle rear part with a defined gap clearance. In a hot condition, where a length of the exhaust system is increased due to thermal expansion, a greater clearance arises between the edge of the cutout and the tailpipe cover than in the cold condition. The tailpipe cover is trumpet cone shaped.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2007Date of Patent: October 20, 2009Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AktiengesellschaftInventor: Andreas Fritz

Publication number: 20090250831Abstract: The invention relates to a polyester based on a polycondensation product of terephthalic acid and/or terephthalic acid derivatives comprising bivalent alcohols. Said polyester is characterised in that (I) between 40 and less than 90 mol. % of ethylene glycol, propane-1,3-diol and/or butane-1,4-diol is combined with (II) between 60 and more than 10 mol. % alkane-1,2-diol, exclusively ethylene glycol, and the polyester has a melting point of between approximately 145 and 250° C. (in accordance with DIN EN ISO 53765). It has a comparatively low melting point, such that it can be retreated at the lower melting temperature. This prevents undesired secondary and decomposition reactions during the retreatment, and enables energy costs to be reduced. The inventive polyester is especially suitable for producing fibres or filaments by melt-spinning, and films, bottles and other moulded parts according to an injection moulding method. The fibres can be treated to form a high-quality nonwoven material.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2006Publication date: October 8, 2009Inventors: Franz Effenberger, Michael Schweizer, Frank Hermanutz, Andreas Fritz

Patent number: 6830024Abstract: A suction system for an internal-combustion engine is provided with at least one container, which can be connected by way of feed pipes with the intake ports of a cylinder head. Openings of the intake ports for charge cycle control are monitored by valves. In the container or in the feed pipes, at least one reflection chamber is provided, which is connected with the interior volume of the container by way of a hole structure. The hole structure is formed by a plurality of openings that are formed in a wall section of the container, and are closed off by a cover fastened to the exterior side of the container wall, providing a reflection chamber which reduces noise in the suction system without adversely affecting air flow in the interior of the suction system.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2002Date of Patent: December 14, 2004Assignee: Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Patent number: 6782282Abstract: The present invention concerns the improvement of the supercurrent carrying capabilities, i.e. the increase of critical current densities, of bicrystalline or polycrystalline superconductor structures, especially of high-Tc superconductors. By providing an appropriate predetermined dopant profile across the superconductor structure, in particular within or in the vicinity of the grain boundaries, the space-charge layers at the grain boundaries are reduced and thereby the current transport properties of the superconductor significantly improved. Simultaneously, the influence of magnetic fields on the critical current densities is significantly reduced, which in turn enhances the overall supercurrent carrying capabilities while keeping the supercurrent transport properties of the grains at good values.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2003Date of Patent: August 24, 2004Inventors: Hartmut Ulrich Bielefeldt, Barbel Martha Gotz, German Hammerl, Johannes Wilhelmus Maria Hilgenkamp, Jochen Dieter Mannhart, Andreas Fritz Albert Schmehl, Christof Walter Schneider, Robert Ralf Schulz

Patent number: 6573220Abstract: The present invention concerns an enhancement of the supercurrent carrying capabilities of bicrystalline or polycrystalline high-Tc superconductors, i.e. the critical current densities in such superconductors. The current transport properties are improved by chemically altering, especially doping, the superconductors. It seems that a modification of the space-charge layers at the boundary, e.g. by an increase of the mobile charge carrier concentrations particularly in the superconductor's grain boundaries, which concentrations differ from those resulting in optimum superconducting properties of the grains, are responsible for this positive effect.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2001Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Inventors: Jochen Dieter Mannhart, Hartmut Ulrich Bielefeldt, Barbel Martha Gotz, Johannes Wilhelmus Maria Hilgenkamp, Andreas Fritz Albert Schmehl, Christof Walter Schneider, Robert Ralf Schulz
