  • Publication number: 20160144844
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the redundant signal processing of a safety-relevant application, in particular of a safety control unit of a motor vehicle, wherein at least two redundant signals are fed from at least one sensor (4) to an electronic circuit assembly (2) as input signals (6) for processing of the sensor information. At least one input signal (6) is converted into a different test signal (16). In the electronic circuit assembly (2), the one or more input signals (6) are fed to a first peripheral module (12) of a microcontroller (10), and the test signal (16) is fed to an additional peripheral module (18) of the microcontroller (10). The sensor information of the input signals (6) and of the test signal (16) are thus redundantly processed independently of each other in a respective peripheral module (12, 18) of the microcontroller (10).

  • Publication number: 20150367821
Abstract: A control unit of a vehicle brake system has a receive circuit for tapping and processing a digital signal provided by an active speed sensor for speed measurement on a vehicle wheel. The signal includes information concerning the speed of a pole wheel, which is arranged in front of the sensor, spaced therefrom by an air gap, and which rotates along with the wheel. The signal also includes an actual air gap value digitized in stages and comprising several bits. The control unit also has a comparator circuit for comparing the actual air gap value to a reference air gap value and for determining whether the actual air gap value exceeds the reference value by more than a defined tolerance value. An information circuit of the control circuit generates early warning information when the comparator circuit determines that the actual air gap value exceeds the reference value by more than the tolerance value.

  • Patent number: 6806591
Abstract: A method of shutting down a pluggable electrical unit in a modular system comprising a base unit and at least one pluggable electrical unit connected via an interface. Each pluggable electrical unit has module electronics and a switch, which is coupled to a mechanical locking of the pluggable electrical unit in the base unit. The electronics is provided with a variable resistor, arranged in a feed line and is communicatively connected to the base unit via switching means. For removal, the pluggable electrical unit to be removed is unlocked and the switch is actuated. Then, communication operations in progress between the base unit and the pluggable electrical unit to be removed are terminated. The communication connection routed via the switching means is disconnected and the module electronics of the pluggable electrical unit to be removed are isolated from the base unit.

  • Patent number: 6721160
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for dissipating electrostatic charges (3) of a pluggable electrical unit (2) with an at least partially electrically conductive housing (20) when it is brought into connection with an at least partially electrically conductive enclosure (10) connected to earth potential of an electrical base unit (1) using a pair of leading contacts (131, 231). In this case, the enclosure (10) is connected to earth potential (4) of the base unit (1) via a first attenuator (111/121), to the frame potential (14) of the base unit (1) via a second attenuator (112/122) and to a first contact device (131). The frame potential (14) of the base unit (1) is connected to a second contact device (132). The housing (20) of the pluggable electrical unit (2) is connected to the frame potential (24) of the pluggable electrical unit (2) via a third attenuator (211/221) and to a first mating contact device (231) via a fourth attenuator (212).

  • Patent number: 6661236
Abstract: A method of initializing a pluggable electrical unit in a modular system that has a base unit and at least one pluggable electrical unit connected via an interface. Each pluggable electrical unit has module electronics and a read-only memory with clearly identifying identifiers. The interface is equipped with a variable resistor in a feed line. The connection between the base unit and the pluggable electrical unit is established initially only partially, and only to the read-only memory, after switching on the power supply to the pluggable electrical unit. After that, the pluggable electrical unit is identified and, in accordance with the identity of the pluggable electrical unit, the full connection or full isolation between the base unit and the pluggable electrical unit is established.

  • Patent number: 6653580
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for locking a pluggable electrical unit in an enclosure of an electrical base unit, the pluggable electrical unit having at least one arresting element, which engages in a mating arresting element in the enclosure of the base unit in such a way that the physical removal of the pluggable electrical unit is prevented in the locked state. For the slot-dependent detection of the actuation of locking elements on the part of the base unit, it is proposed to arrange the arresting element (21) such that, in the rest position, it is concealed by a movable covering (24) in such a way that the arresting element (21) is only accessible once the covering (24) has been removed. The covering (24) is in operative connection with an electrical switching contact (25), each position of the covering (24) deviating from the rest position triggering the switching contact (25). The covering (24) can only be brought into the rest position in the locked state of the pluggable electrical unit (2).
