  • Patent number: 8530804
Abstract: A method and a device for the continuous production of glass and glass ceramic products from a glass melt is provided, which simplifies the changing between two kinds of glass. The device includes a melting crucible and an induction coil, which preferably extends around the melting crucible in order to heat a glass melt by means of an induction field generated by the induction coil. The wall elements, which form the side wall of the crucible, have cooling channels, through which a cooling fluid can be conducted, so that the glass melt solidifies on the side wall and forms a skull layer. The interior side of the wall elements is formed at least in part by an aluminum nitride-containing ceramic.

  • Publication number: 20130084642
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for calibrating and/or adjusting an analytical device for chemical substances. A predetermined concentration of a chemical substance in a reference liquid is measured by mixing the reference liquid with a reagent for producing a color change, followed by irradiating with light of a predetermined wavelength. Based on the absorption of the light by the reference liquid, a concentration is determined, which is compared with the predetermined concentration of the reference liquid. In the case of which a calibrating and/or adjusting associated with the measurement process is possible without long interruptions of the measurement process, the predetermined concentration of the reference liquid is gained by mixing at least two standard, which contain different concentrations of the chemical substance.

  • Publication number: 20110083557
Abstract: A method for removing chloride from samples containing volatile organic carbon, wherein a chloride containing sample is mixed with a difficultly volatile acid, wherein hydrochloric acid gas arises, which is present in dissolved form in a sample-acid mixture and then the hydrochloric acid gas is purged by a carrier gas from the sample-acid mixture, wherein the hydrochloric acid gas is removed from the carrier gas following the purging and the carrier gas is fed back to the sample-acid mixture. In order during the hydrochloric acid purging largely to suppress the driving out of easily volatile organic compounds, the sample-acid mixture has a temperature of approximately 3° C. to 30° C., wherein, following the purging from the sample-acid mixture, the hydrochloric acid gas is removed from the carrier gas by absorption with water.

  • Patent number: 7584172
Abstract: Searches in data repositories are facilitated by a control displayed in a computer user interface. The control is capable of presenting a plurality of search options that a user can select for execution. Each search option specifies both an associated predetermined query to be performed on a data repository and an associated predetermined visual configuration for displaying a result of the predetermined query. An input from the user is received that selects one of the plurality of search options presented by the computer user interface control. The predetermined data repository query associated with the selected search option is performed, and the result of the query is displayed using the associated predetermined visual configuration. Search options having identical predetermined queries may be associated with different visual configurations. Search options associated with the same visual configuration may have different predetermined queries. The queries may be defined by the user.

  • Publication number: 20080138528
Abstract: Copper conductor tracks of circuit boards require a coating which has good corrosion resistance and is suitable for multiple solderability and bondability to enable them to be provided with electronic components. These properties are fulfilled by a layer system which has an intermediate layer of autocatalytically deposited nickel on which a palladium layer has been deposited by charge exchange. To ensure reliable adhesive strength, low porosity and a good homogeneity, the bath for deposition of the palladium layer contains a copper compound. To passivate the palladium layer, the layer system can be provided with a final layer of gold deposited by charge exchange and/or autocatalytically.

  • Publication number: 20070157774
Abstract: Tool head as seat and drive for the rotary motion of a tool to be bilaterally supported in the tool head. Near its ends, the tool has centering faces which fit into rotatably developed seat bushings in the tool head. One of said seat bushings is arranged in a drive carriage and the other in a counter-bearing, in alignment with each other. The counter-bearing is part of a counter-bearing carriage which can be displaced far enough on the drive carriages to seat the tool so that the tool, which is located between the carriages, is held with the centering faces in the bushings and a pre-adjusted axial force is present. A rotary drive motor is connected to the tool via a tool spindle supported in the drive carriage and a positive clutch. The tool is preferably developed as a shaft tool and is essentially symmetrical relative to a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation in the center of a gear cutting enveloping body of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20050235207
Abstract: A method of aiding a user of a graphical user interface (GUI) in inputting a value includes displaying a first GUI abstraction in a GUI. The first GUI abstraction presents a first collection of possible values for an input field. A user input is received, indicating that the user wants to choose from another collection of possible values different from the first collection. The user input is made in a specific context. A second GUI abstraction is displayed that presents the other collection of possible values. The second GUI abstraction is selected based on the specific context. The first GUI abstraction may be a drop down list box. The second GUI abstraction may be a pane presenting the other collection of possible values.
