    Abstract: A refrigerating appliance, in particular a domestic freezer, includes a basic structure and a door, which bound a thermally insulated interior when the door is closed. The door has an inner side of the door which faces the interior when the door is closed and has a seal which is intended to substantially seal the interior when the door is closed. Behind the seal, there is at least one recess in the inner side of the door for permitting passage of air beneath the seal. The seal and the at least one recess form opposite gaps which bound side edges of the seal.
