  • Patent number: 8060908
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for providing enhanced consumer access to information sources and controllable entities. An Access device can be a stand alone device such as a DVD player in which the DVD disk contains the back-end information network. Other Access devices obtain the back-end information network from remote sources. By way of a specific example, the consumer can then view a game and interactively select every television camera located at the game venue.

  • Patent number: 7875147
Abstract: Provided is a process for fusion-bonding plastic parts with the aid of laser radiation of a wavelength outside the visible region, wherein a bonding region of a plastic part to be bonded comprises at least one material which is transparent in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum, is substantially colorless and absorbs the laser radiation, wherein the material comprises at least one nonionic compound that is resistant to the laser radiation, has a thermal stability of at least 300° C. and is selected from polycyclic organic compounds, doped tin oxides and hexaborides MB6 of lanthanides and alkaline earth metals M. Also provided is a preparation suitable for producing fusion-bonded plastic parts with the aid of laser radiation whose wavelength is outside the visible region, the preparation comprising: a thermoplastic matrix polymer suitable for forming the plastics parts; at least one of said material; optional UV stabilizers; and optional additives.

  • Publication number: 20100033885
Abstract: A potted electrical circuit is enclosed within a housing and has a first and second fiberglass layer that is laid upon a top surface of the potted electrical circuit. A lid of the housing seals the electrical circuit there within and an opening formed in a side wall allows circuitry wiring to extend there from out. The first fiberglass layer is a woven layer while the second fiberglass layer is a padding-like layer. Circuitry wiring pushes through the woven first fiberglass layer before extending out through the opening in the housing. The first fiberglass layer is tucked in and around the electrical circuit and adheres to the inside of the housing by attaching to the potting material while it hardens. In a preferred embodiment, the electrical circuit in combination with the insulation material is used within a transient voltage surge suppression device.

  • Publication number: 20070221321
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for welding together plastic parts with the aid of laser radiation having a wavelength outside the visible range. According to the inventive method, the joining zone of one of the plastic parts that are to be joined together is provided with a substantially colorless material that is transparent in the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum while absorbing the laser radiation. The inventive method is characterized in that at least one non-ionic, laser radiation-resistant compound that has a minimum thermal resistance of 300° C. and is selected among the group comprising the polycyclic organic compounds, doped tin oxides, and hexaborides MB6 of lanthanide metals and alkaline earth metals M is used as the laser radiation-absorbent material.

  • Publication number: 20070056613
Abstract: A dishwasher includes a circulating jump, a spraying system and a spray nozzle enabling device. The spraying system is disposed in a spray chamber and includes a first and a second group of spray nozzles, the first and second group of spray nozzles being disposed on a rotatable nozzle arm. The first and second group of spray nozzles are capable of being operated independently by wash water flowing therethrough. The spray nozzle enabling device is disposed in an area of the nozzle arm and configured to enable, for the wash water, alternately either the first or the second group of spray nozzles in a random manner and independently of a control system associated with the spraying system.
