Abstract: The invention relates to a binder-free photopolymerizable composition comprising: (i) at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer; (ii) a photoinitiator system; and (iii) at least one organic component. In a first embodiment the at least one organic component is selected from the group consisting of fats, oils, paraffins and silicones. In an alternative embodiment the absolute value of the difference in refractive index between the at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer and the at least one organic component is at least 0.065. Furthermore, the invention relates to a photosensitive element comprising said photopolymerizable composition, a process for preparing a refractive index image, in particular a hologram, and a refractive index image.
