  • Publication number: 20090179362
Abstract: A bushing, having a core member, at least one enveloping body surrounding the same, and at least one elastic connecting layer, the elastic connecting layer joining together and spacing apart the enveloping body and the core member, and the core member and the enveloping body being movable relative to one another. In view of the object of designing and further refining a bushing of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it exhibits an adjustable stiffness response that is dependent on the deflection of the core member relative to the enveloping body, following the cost-effective manufacturing thereof, the bushing has at least one limit stop, which is structurally separate or is produced separately from the connecting layer, is assigned to the core member and/or the enveloping body and limits the relative movement thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090126345
Abstract: An engine with an emissions control arrangement includes an engine including an intake and an exhaust system, an EGR system comprising a conduit between the exhaust system and the intake and an EGR controller between the exhaust system and the conduit, the EGR controller being adapted to control EGR flow from the exhaust system to the intake, a reduction agent introduction system adapted to introduce a reduction agent into the exhaust system, and a controller arranged to adjust EGR flow and reduction agent introduction as functions of each other.

  • Publication number: 20090011000
Abstract: Fusion inhibitor peptides are provided comprising a sequence derived from an HR2 domain. In preferred embodiments, the peptides are capable of oligomerization. Also provided are nucleic acids encoding the peptides, vectors comprising the nucleic acids and host cells transformed with the vectors. The peptides may be used as medicaments. Also provided are methods for expressing a protein comprising one or more transmembrane domain(s) in an expression system. The methods comprise fusing a sequence encoding an 18-mer peptide, or a functional equivalent thereof, to a gene encoding the protein and expressing the resultant gene-fusion product in an expression system.

  • Publication number: 20080302085
Abstract: A method, a device and a computer program product for the diagnosis of an oxidation catalyst for the oxidation of NO into NO2 in a motor vehicle is provided. An exhaust gas aftertreatment system includes at least the aforementioned oxidation catalyst and a particulate filter and/or an NOx-reducing catalyst arranged downstream of the oxidation catalyst, and a predetermined quantity of a reducing agent is supplied to the exhaust system upstream of the oxidation catalyst, and the NOx content or NO2 content is measured downstream of the oxidation catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20080271438
Abstract: A method and an arrangement are provided for maintaining the oxidation of NO to NO2 in an oxidation catalytic converter arranged in a vehicle, the vehicle including an internal combustion engine which in operation emits exhaust gases to an exhaust gas after treatment system including the oxidation catalytic converter. A predetermined quantity of hydrocarbon is delivered to the exhaust gas aftertreatment system or the engine over at least one predetermined time interval for the purpose of maintaining the working temperature or regenerating an exhaust gas aftertreatment unit. The quantity of hydrocarbon is delivered to the exhaust gas aftertreatment system or to the engine through an injection with at least one predetermined fragmentation frequency and an injection period in order to maintain an NO2 production in the exhaust gas aftertreatment system that prevailed immediately prior to said time interval for the hydrocarbon injection.

  • Publication number: 20060179823
Abstract: A piston-type internal combustion engine (10) having an intake line (20) for delivering air to combustion chambers of the engine and an exhaust system (15, 22) for removing exhaust gases from said combustion chambers. The exhaust system includes equipment (29, 30) for reducing environmentally harmful exhaust emissions from the engine, which is intended to function with variable load in order to propel a vehicle. The exhaust system (15, 22) has a branch pipe (26) controlled by a valve (24) and bypassing at least one part of the equipment (29, 30) for reducing environmentally harmful exhaust emissions. The valve (24) is controlled so that it leads the exhaust gas flow through the branch pipe (26) over a part of the overall load range of the engine. The engine is optimized in order to give acceptable exhaust emissions over said part of the overall load range of the engine.
