Abstract: A device for treating a continuously conveyed thread group in order to produce tire cord has a roller pair for locally softening the thread group, wherein each roller (3, 4) is provided with a toothing formation. When the thread group is guided through between the rollers (3, 4), it is deformed by the mechanical loading of the teeth. The rollers (3, 4) can be driven in a separate manner directly or indirectly by way of actuable electric motors, as a result of which the gap spacings (A) and (B) can be set precisely identically. The axle spacing (C) of the two rollers (3, 4) can be set depending on the fabric thickness and the fabric type.
