  • Publication number: 20090303898
Abstract: Described is a method for determining a telegram length in an operating apparatus for communicating between the operating apparatus and a field device via a network. The method comprises composing a first telegram in the operating apparatus. The first telegram comprises a predeterminable first telegram length, and the composed first telegram is despatched via the network to the field device. After the first telegram has been despatched, the operating apparatus waits for the receipt of a second telegram, which second telegram is received by the operating apparatus via the network. After successful receipt of the second telegram, the first telegram length is increased by a predeterminable value. Increasing the value takes place until receiving the second telegram fails. After the receipt of the second telegram has failed, the first telegram length that has resulted in successfully receiving the second telegram is provided.

  • Publication number: 20090003426
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving unit is provided for a field device for measuring a filling level or a pressure, which has an adaptive error counter. In this way, the sensitivity of the error detection may be adapted to individual needs or to the present length of the communications section. Thus, during wireless communication an optimally set error counter may fundamentally be used according to the distance to be covered without any adjustment needing to be made for this on the user side.

  • Publication number: 20080320402
Abstract: A device for generating a user interface configuration for at least one field device, measuring device, in particular a sensor or actuator, is provided. The device comprises a database and a user interface generating device, wherein the database is designed to store a plurality of device data for the field device, and wherein the user interface generating device is equipped to generate a user interface description file that is allocated to the at least one field device in a predeterminable user interface description language. The user interface description language is selectable from at least two user interface description languages.

  • Publication number: 20070243830
Abstract: A transceiver for wirelessly transmitting process variables with a radio interface and a field device interface is provided. The transceiver has two operating states. The transceiver is designed to receive a field device signal at the field device interface and relay the field device signal via the radio interface in the first operating state. In the second operating state, the transceiver receives a field device signal via the radio interface, and makes the field device signal available at the field device interface.

  • Publication number: 20070100995
Abstract: A communication module for a measuring instrument may include a first interface, a second interface, and an integrated web client. To the first interface a measuring instrument can be connected, whereas to the second interface a database can be connected. The communication module is configured to receive at the first interface a measurement value and to forward it to the second interface by the web client.

  • Publication number: 20060192671
Abstract: This invention relates to a data transmission system for wireless communication of a control device with a field unit via a radio transmission device. The communication between control device and radio transmission device takes place via a field bus protocol. Likewise, the communication of the field unit with the radio transmission device takes place via a field bus protocol. The radio transmission device is capable of transmitting the field bus protocol by a radio protocol.

  • Publication number: 20060130073
Abstract: The invention relates to a process in a control system for identifying nonequivalent functionality between a device software and an assigned device driver, in which information (TR-ID) identifying a given version of the device driver and/or information (SW-ID) identifying a given version of the device software is transmitted between a device control mechanism (GC) and a device (G) over an interface (CI, GI) between said device control mechanism (GC) and said device (G); the information (TR-ID) identifying a given version of the device driver and the information (SW-ID) identifying a given version of the device software are compared with respect to functional equivalence; and an update is executed in the case of functional nonequivalence and/or an error announcement is issued. The invention also relates to a system configuration for implementing such a process.

  • Publication number: 20050268011
Abstract: Described is a method for data communication in a communication system. The system includes a plurality of communication participants, each participant having a subsystem responsible for communication. A communication participant acts as master of the communication system, the subsystem of the master being operated continuously. The other communication participants act as communication slaves in the communication system. The subsystems of the communication slaves are de-energized, when no communication takes place. Furthermore, a protocol for controlling a bidirectional communication is provided. Establishment of the communication results from a special initial packet, which is transmitted by a communication slave to a communication master. The initial packet is acknowledged by the master with a confirmation packet. This confirmation packet comprises information, whether subsequent communication is required.

  • Publication number: 20050222835
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for automatic modeling a process control system in which elements of a user interface are arranged in a tree structure reflecting the topography of the elements in the process control system. Each element is assigned to at least one input window having a plurality of attributes for setting and/or monitoring a target apparatus controllable in the process control system. The current arrangement of the tree structure is stored as a project, and a list of all windows opened during the same current operation as well as their attributes are stored as an operating session, to thereby be able to restore the state of the elements when loading the process control system again. Moreover, the invention relates to a process control system adapted to carry out the above-referenced method.
