  • Publication number: 20220044850
Abstract: A process manufactures a PTC heating element (10) that includes at least one PTC component (20) and, on at least one side (50, 52) of the at least one PTC component (20), at least one carrier (14, 16) permanently connected to the PTC component (20). The process includes arranging solder material (46, 48) between the one side of the at least one PTC component (20), which side is to be permanently connected to the at least one carrier (14, 16), and the at least one carrier to be connected on this side of the at least one PTC component (20). The solder material (46, 48) is melted by induction soldering to connect the at least one PTC component (20) to the at least one carrier (14, 16).

  • Publication number: 20220046765
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a PTC heating element that includes at least one PTC component (20) and a carrier (14, 16) permanently connected to the PTC component on at least one side (24, 26) of thereof The process includes applying electrically conductive sintered material (28, 30, 36, 38) on the one side of the PTC component, which side is to be permanently connected to a carrier. Subsequently, a contact of the PTC component is established with at least one carrier such that sintered material, which was applied between the PTC component and the carrier and is intended for establishing a connection between the at least one PTC component and the at least one carrier, is positioned. The sintered material, which material has been positioned between the PTC component and the carrier, is sintered by heating or/and by applying pressure.

  • Publication number: 20210360743
Abstract: A method is provided for manufacturing a PTC heating cell with at least one PTC element and contact elements which are made of an electrically conductive material, which are electrically conductively abutted against the PTC element, and which are connected to the PTC element and a corresponding heating cell. In order to improve heat extraction and the connection between the contact element and the PTC element, the contact elements are connected to the PTC element by induction soldering. Also disclosed is a PTC cell in which there is only solder of the solder connection between the thermistor material of the PTC element and the contact element.

  • Publication number: 20210298132
Abstract: An electric heating device includes a housing encompassing a PTC element and strip conductors electrically connected to the PTC element for energizing the same with different polarity. The housing is integrally molded over the PTC element and strip conductors from a polymer ceramic. A method of manufacturing such an electric heating device also is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20210274601
Abstract: A PTC heating device includes a PTC element and a frame element which forms a recess circumferentially surrounding the PTC element and being covered on both sides by electrically insulating plates that interact with the frame element for sealing the PTC element in the recess. In order to create a PTC heating device which allows for a reliable electrical connection of the PTC element to a power source while reliably sealing the PTC element in the recess, the insulating plates each be provided with a metallization that is connected, in an electrically conductively manner, to the PTC element. The metallization is connected in an electrically conductively manner, to an associated contact surface provided on the outer surface of the electrically insulating plate for the electrical connection of a power source to the PTC heating device.
