  • Patent number: 9151391
Abstract: A labyrinth seal includes a first labyrinth ring and a second labyrinth ring. In an installed state of the labyrinth seal, the first labyrinth ring and the second labyrinth ring engage in each other in an at least partially overlapping manner and are rotatable relative to each other. Furthermore, in the installed state, mutually-opposing surfaces of the first and of the second labyrinth ring have different wear resistances.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 28, 2012
Date of Patent: October 6, 2015
    Assignee: AKTIEBOLAGET SKF
    Inventors: Andreas Kern-Trautmann, Mathias Seuberling
  • Patent number: 9089091
Abstract: A method for controlling operation of a harvesting machine includes using a sensor unit to sense at least one state variable of a rolling-element bearing during operation of the harvesting machine and sending the at least one sensed variable to at least one evaluation unit, analyzing the at least one sensed variable in the at least one evaluation unit and generating at least one analysis result, and starting a process operation based on the at least one analysis result, wherein the process operation includes controlling at least one operating parameter of the harvesting machine and wherein the controlling and the sensing of the sensor unit form a closed loop control circuit.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20120260937
Abstract: A device for cleaning a surface of a component includes a high voltage source having a cathode configured to be electrically connected with the surface of the component. An ionization electrode includes at least one individual electrode configured to be electrically connected with an anode of the high voltage source. A movable carriage moves the ionization electrode relative to the surface of the component so that an electric field generated between the ionization electrode and the surface of the component is also moved relative to the surface of the component.

  • Publication number: 20100244386
Abstract: A labyrinth seal includes a first disc and a second disc spaced axially from the first disc such that an axial intermediate chamber is formed between the first and the second discs. A first ring connected with the first disc so as to extend generally toward the second disc and into the axial chamber and second and third rings are each connected with the second disc so as to extend generally toward the first disc and into the axial chamber. The third ring is spaced radially outwardly from the second ring and the first ring being at least partially disposed radially between the second and third rings so as to form a sealing labyrinth. Preferably, each of the rings is cut from a common strip of material, bended to form a ring and welded to the associated disc.
