  • Patent number: 8186770
Abstract: A method for controlling and/or regulating an electronically triggerable vehicle brake system, operating on the return principle, and to such a brake system in which by an adapted triggering of the drive motor for the pressure generator, the pumping quantity of the pressure generator is varied such that the difference between these flows of pressure medium to and from the master cylinder assumes a minimal value, preferably a value of zero. To that end, the driving rpm of the pressure generator is preferably varied. The trigger signal for the drive motor can be ascertained by an electronic control unit from measurement outcomes from sensors within the vehicle brake system, or it can be estimated with the aid of a hydraulic volume model stored in memory in the control unit. The trigger signal can be controlled or regulated.

  • Publication number: 20060097568
Abstract: A method for braking two vehicle wheels of one axle, in which the value of the brake pressure in the wheel-brake cylinder allocated to the first wheel is linked with the value of the brake pressure in the wheel-brake cylinder allocated to the second wheel. • Patent number: 6984004
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling at least one valve of a brake circuit using an electrical control variable, in which a characteristic curve which characterizes the relationship between the pressure drop across the valve and the electrical control variable has at least one region in which a change in the electrical variable results in a change in the pressure drop; and a starting value for the electrical control variable is selected during actuation of the valve such that the starting value is in this region or at the boundary of this region.

  • Patent number: 6941486
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for optimizing transmission security and failure security in high-bit-rate data networks by via signal line redundancy between the network nodes, such that parallel signal lines can optionally be occupied, or can be switched, as working lines or protection lines, and selectors, bridge circuits, and interface modules are provided at the network node side. According to the invention, each of the parallel signal lines is connected at the network node side with a respective interface module, and all interface modules are in principle in the active state. Given failure of one of the interface modules, this failure is immediately countered by a signal line changeover, and line errors are immediately countered by the provided interface module redundancy. Furthermore, error messages can be transmitted, via a corresponding link, between the interface modules of the incoming and outgoing parallel signal lines in each of the network nodes.

  • Patent number: 6331981
Abstract: In a method and network component of a communications network for switching connections of low bit rate between input modules and output modules, the input modules and the output modules form a first switching level, and an ATM switching stage arranged between the input modules and the output modules forms a second switching level. In the first switching level, a number of low bit rate connections at the input module, which are to be transmitted to the same output module, are respectively merged by the input module into at least one ATM connection. In the second switching level, the switching through of the ATM connections for transmitting data in ATM cells ensues by the ATM switching stage. Subsequently, in the first switching level, the ATM connections which have been switched through are converted by the output module into the low bit rate connections.

  • Patent number: 6079796
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic brake system of a vehicle comprising one wheel brake valve preceding each wheel brake cylinder and one return feed pump connected parallel to each of the wheel brake valves and connected to the suction sides of the wheel brake cylinders. For anti-lock control, the return feed pump is put into operation, and by clocked triggering of a wheel brake valve of a vehicle wheel that is tending to lock, the brake fluid pressure in the wheel brake cylinder of this vehicle wheel is modulated. To realize a traction control device, the invention sets forth a switchover valve in a brake line from the master brake cylinder to the wheel brake cylinder of a driven vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 6074018
Abstract: The invention is based on a dual-circuit anti-lock vehicle brake system (10) with a tandem master cylinder (12), a switchover valve (14) following the latter, a brake pressure modulation valve assembly (18, 20) that has a brake pressure buildup valve (18) and a brake pressure reduction valve (20) for each wheel brake cylinder (16), and a return pump (24). To enable building up brake pressure rapidly for vehicle dynamics control, the invention proposes one additional pump (28) in each brake circuit (I, II), whose intake side is connected directly to the master cylinder (12) and which feeds in the direction of the wheel brake cylinders (16) connected to to this brake circuit (I, II). As a result, a brake pressure buildup is possible in each wheel brake cylinder (16), even when the master cylinder (12) is not actuated, which buildup can be modulated for individual wheels in a manner known per se.

  • Patent number: 5988774
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system for a vehicle with an anti-lock arrangement operable by wheel brake pressures are individually variable in front wheel brakes and rear wheel brakes, connected to diagonal brake circuits, of a four-wheeled vehicle, in order to reduce or eliminate a threat of wheel locking. The anti-lock arrangement has at least one return pump per brake circuit. The anti-lock arrangement is equipped with a total of four electrically controllable valves. In each of the brake circuits I, II there is one first valve between the master cylinder and a front wheel brake and one second valve between the master cylinder and the rear wheel brake. All the valves are embodied as normally open valves and are electrically closable. Inlets of each of the return pumps communicate directly with the respective front wheel brakes and indirectly with the rear wheel brakes through throttles. Check valves that open toward the inlets of the return pumps are provided in series with the throttles.

  • Patent number: 5829846
Abstract: The brake system includes a first and a second diagonal brake circuit distribution. A first 2/2-way valve is located in a first line between a master cylinder and a wheel brake cylinder of the front axle. On the wheel brake side, a second line, in which a second 2/2-way valve is disposed, branches off from the first line, leading to a wheel brake cylinder of the rear axle. A third line originates between the second multiposition valve and the wheel brake cylinder and has a pump, with which pressure fluid can be fed from the wheel brake cylinders to the master cylinder. Brake force distribution that is dependent on the dynamic axle load shifting, and within limits, individual-wheel brake pressure control if wheel locking threatens, are thus made possible.
