    Abstract: The invention is related to a method and an apparatus (1) for the fabrication of an endless band (300) containing fiber material, in particular wood, comprising at least the following method steps: providing at least one fiber material block, the fiber material block having a face side; cutting off a plate element (31) from the face side of a fiber material block, the plate element (31) having a cutting surface from the fiber material block, a main surface facing the cutting surface, and an edge surface connecting the cutting surface and the main surface; arranging in relation to each other the cutting surface of the plate element (31) and a fiber material block such that the main surface of the plate element (31) follows the face surface of the fiber material block, wherein said face surface forms the main surface of a further plate element; connecting the plate element and the further plate element by a connecting means; cutting off the further plate element from the face side of the fiber material block.
