  • Patent number: 10090740
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for fabrication of a conductor bar and to a use of a conductor tape with applied putty for the fabrication of a conductor bar. Described is a method for fabrication of a conductor bar including, applying a putty at one side of a conductor tape, applying a release foil at the other side of the putty opposed to the conductor tape, removing the release foil before applying the conductor tape to the narrow side of the conductor bar, providing a pressing mold with rounded edges at the inner side of the pressing mold, surrounding the conductor bar with putty and conductor tape with the pressing mold, and hot pressing the conductor bar with the pressing mold.

    Assignee: GE Renewable Technologies
    Inventors: Markus Huwyler, Andreas Koepfler
  • Patent number: 9331540
Abstract: An end winding corona protection including a winding of a rotating electric machine, having a conductor and a groundwall insulation surrounding the conductor, an end winding corona protection arranged on the outer surface of the groundwall insulation, the end winding corona protection comprising a first layer characterized in that the surface resistance of the first layer is in the range of 10 Ohm to 80 Ohm, and in that the end winding corona protection further comprises a second layer arranged on the outer surface of the first layer, wherein the second layer is made of semiconductive material, and wherein third layer is arranged on the outer surface of the second layer and made of medium resistive material.

  • Patent number: 9018818
Abstract: An insulating cap is provided for an end winding of an electrical machine working at a high voltage, the end winding including a plurality of insulated winding bars protruding from respective winding slots and electrically conductively connected to one another in pairs at their ends so as to form a plurality of electrical connections. The cap includes an opening allowing the insulating cap to be pushed over a region of one of the electrical connections such that the insulating cap insulates an outside of the electrical connection. An interior includes a layer configured to gradually dissipate a high electrical field in the region of the electrical connection to an outside of the insulating cap, the outside of the insulating cap being at earth potential.
