  • Patent number: 8280582
Abstract: A device is provided for identifying overrun phases of a vehicle in advance. The device includes at least one processing unit, which processes altitude position data of a route that is traveled by a vehicle or will be traveled by a vehicle and calculates a prediction of the probable occurrence of future overrun phases of the vehicle, taking into consideration the altitude position data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 2010
Date of Patent: October 2, 2012
Assignee: Knorr-Bremse Systeme fuer Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH
    Inventor: Andreas Leinung
  • Patent number: 7908055
Abstract: A control device for a compressed air system of a vehicle or for a component of a compressed air system of a vehicle includes at least one processor calculating a prediction of the occurrence and/or duration of overrun condition phases of the vehicle based on altitude position data of a route traveled by or still to be traveled by the vehicle. The control device controls the compressed air system, a component of the compressed air system, or a component intended to operate the compressed air system, based on the calculated prediction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 14, 2010
Date of Patent: March 15, 2011
Assignee: KNORR-BREMSE Systeme fuer Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH
    Inventor: Andreas Leinung
  • Patent number: 7866447
Abstract: An electro mechanical or pneumatically actuated disk brake, in particular for a utility vehicle, includes a brake caliper or saddle and a brake disk. The brake saddle overlaps the brake disk at least in sections of the outer periphery thereof. The disk brake also includes a tensioning device which is entirely or partially inserted into the brake saddle. The tensioning device is used to produce a tensioning movement between the brake linings and the brake disk. The disk brake further includes at least one and preferably several adjusting devices. The brake disk and/or the brake saddle are arranged on a step with elastic pre-tension when the brake is in the release state.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 11, 2011
Assignee: KNORR-BREMSE Systeme fuer Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH

  • Publication number: 20100174451
Abstract: A method and a device are provided for determining an overrun condition of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, including a control unit that determines the overrun condition. The control unit is suitable for determining a probable occurrence of at least one overrun condition, at least in accordance with altitude or height profile data of a route that is and/or will be traveled by the vehicle. A navigation system, that is suitable for determining at least height profile data of a route that is traveled or will be traveled by a vehicle, is used in order to allow the determination of a probable occurrence of at least one overrun condition of the vehicle in accordance with the height profile data. Synchronization of an air supply operation during the overrun condition is hence possible.
