  • Publication number: 20150167078
Abstract: A method is provided for discovering antibodies with desired properties. In one aspect of this invention, oligoclonal single chain repertoires are determined in a target tissue. Single cells from blood are then isolated and sequenced to determine the heavy and light chain pairing in each of thousands of cells. The oligoclonal single chain repertoire is then used to computationally select candidate paired chain antibodies to which the target tissue is antigenic. In another aspect of the invention, oligoclonal heavy and light chain repertoires are determined separately in a target tissue. A list of candidate fully paired antibodies are then identified computationally by an all-by-all pairing of the oligoclonal heavy chain repertoire with the oligoclonal light chain repertoire. This invention has practical application in many biological and medical specialties where antibodies are useful, such as therapeutics, diagnostics, molecular analysis, oncology, transplantation, and infectious disease.

  • Publication number: 20150154352
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for massively parallel genetic analysis of single cells in emulsions or droplets. A biological sample is divided into subsamples of single cells or cell supbopulations, and a fusion complex is formed by molecular linkage and amplification techniques. Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for high-throughput, massively parallel analysis of the subsamples. These methods integrate molecular, algorithmic, and engineering approaches. They have broad and useful application in a number of biological and medical fields, including immunology, noninvasive prenatal diagnosis, and noninvasive cancer diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 8622681
Abstract: Provided is a specimen carrier supply and delivery device having at least one specimen carrier magazine with separate compartments for receiving interchangeably specimen carriers and a magazine lift, which is adjustable in height in a magazine carrier frame for receiving interchangeably specimen carrier magazines. Two pairs of bars, which stand vertically and parallel to one another, are arranged in the magazine carrier frame, wherein the magazine lift is guided in a height adjustable manner on the two complementary first bars of the bar pairs. An equal-sided coupling frame, which is aligned vertically to the plane formed by the first bars, with a bridge, which is arranged parallel to the plane, is mounted in a sliding manner on the two complementary second bars of the pairs of bars. A linear scale, which is aligned parallel to the direction of the bars, is fastened to the magazine lift.

  • Patent number: 7322221
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for applying lubricants on the peripheral surfaces of rollers in roll stands for rolling strips, more particularly multiple roll stands with support rollers and working rollers (SW; AW), wherein the lubricants are applied in an area of the peripheral surfaces of the working cylinder (AW) which impinges upon the rolling strip (WB) located between the upper or bottom strip surface and the strippers (AS) placed against the peripheral surfaces. The improvement to said device is characterized in that the lubricant is applied by means of the application rollers (ATW) that can be pressed against the peripheral surfaces of the working roller (AW), whose periphery is impinged upon by the periphery of a coaxially mounted transmission roller (UW) on the peripheral surface of which lubricant is applied by means of spraying, splashing or dipping devices (SD; TW).

  • Patent number: 6192765
Abstract: A planarity measuring roller is constructed as a loop lifter which is adjustable relative to a rolled strip. The loop lifter includes a plurality of measuring zones located next to one another over the width of the rolled strip. Each measuring zone includes a rotatably mounted individual measuring roller which is pivotable in a clockwise direction and interacts with a force measuring device. Each measuring roller is mounted in a pivotable housing-like lever frame. The pivot point of each lever frame, the point of rotation of the corresponding measuring roller and a force introduction point of the force measuring device arranged underneath of the pivot point of the lever frame form an approximately isosceles triangle.
