  • Patent number: 12178420
Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering an implantable occluder device, e.g., an atrial septal defect occluder having a bioresorbable frame, to the atrial septum of a patient are provided. The system may include an outer shaft configured to be removably coupled to a proximal end of the occluder, an inner shaft slidably disposed within the outer shaft and configured to be removably coupled to a distal end of the occluder, and an outer sheath slidably disposed over the outer shaft and having an expandable distal region configured to transition between a collapsed delivery configuration defining an atraumatic tip, and an expanded configuration to facilitate passage of the occluder therethrough. The system may include a handle having slidable and rotatable actuators operatively coupled to the outer shaft, inner shaft, and outer sheath for deploying and releasing the occluder at the atrial septum.

  • Patent number: 10820907
Abstract: An occluder for occluding a passage in a body, especially in a left atrial appendage (LAA), comprises elongate members having a first end and a second end, the ends being held in or attached to holders, wherein the elongate members extend independently from each other between the holders and wherein the elongate members are collectively enveloped by at least one jacket. The jacket restricts a bending motion of the elongate members when their first ends are approximated to their second ends by moving the two holders relatively to each other. The occluder uses an expanding structure which can be easily handled whereby the movement of the elongate members is restricted by at the jackets which envelop the elongate members. At least the elongate members can be made of bioresorbable material.

  • Patent number: 10219795
Abstract: An occluder including at least one occluding body, a multiple of elongate members forming an expanding unit capable of expanding into at least one fixation structure for fixing the occluding body within the passage thereby expanding the occluding body), the elongate members penetrating the occluding body, a locking unit for locking the expanding unit in its expanded state, fixation bushes for restricting relative movement between the elongate members and the occluding body, each fixation bush surrounding one single elongate member and abutting the occluding body, at least one thread and wherein at least one of these fixation bushes is fastened to the at least one occluding body with this at least one thread, the thread penetrating the at least one bush and the occluding body.
