  • Patent number: 6338298
Abstract: A rotary printing machine has blanket cylinders and plate cylinders, which are integrated in pairs into cylinder groups by a mechanical coupling for their joint drive. Such a cylinder group is driven by a separate drive motor.

  • Patent number: 5158019
Abstract: To adjust the axial spreading movement of distributing rollers (30) in rotary printing presses, at least one eccentric stud (18) is mounted which is rotatable around its axis of rotation (19) in a rotatably drivable housing (3). The housing rotates around the axis of rotation (9) which is located at a distance (a) from the axis of rotation of the eccentric stud. The eccentric stud (18) has an eccentric pin (20), which is arranged at least at one of its ends and is located at the same distance (a) from the axis of rotation (19) of the eccentric stud (18). The eccentric stud (18) is rotatable via a sleeve (10) and via the planetary gear (16), i.e., the distance of the eccentric pin (20) from the axis of rotation (9) can be changed. The eccentric pin (20) transforms its rotary movement via a sliding block (29) into a reciprocating movement, with which the distributing roller (30) is axially driven.

  • Patent number: 5142977
Abstract: The present invention describes a device for moving rollers and in particular rollers of a printing press in two independent directions. Movement in each direction is independent of movement in the other direction. The roller has trunnions which are mounted in roller locks. The roller locks are then mounted on a frame of the printing press. Mechanisms inside the roller lock position the roller lock in one direction with respect to the frame and other mechanisms inside the roller lock position the roller in another direction with respect to the roller lock. This mechanisms are independently controlled and movement of one mechanism is independent of the movement of the other mechanism. By independently controlling these mechanisms the roller can be engaged, disengaged and adjusted with respect to the frame or any components mounted on the frame.

  • Patent number: 5090314
Abstract: A reversible printing unit is equipped with a central distributing roller (9), with which a first transfer cylinder (8) and a second transfer cylinder (12) can be engaged or disengaged independently from one another. A respective dampening mechanism (10) and (24) is associated with each of the transfer cylinders (8) and (12). Depending on the direction of rotation or the mode of operation of the printing unit, the transfer cylinders (8) or (12) and the rollers following them act as dampening rollers or inking rollers. Modes of operation with indirect dampening, pre-inking of the inking mechanism with feed of dampening agent, and rapid and thorough washing of the rollers of the inking and dampening mechanism are also possible due to the independent adjustment of the respective transfer cylinders (8) and (12).
