  • Publication number: 20210193271
Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-implemented method of predicting the temporal fragrance profile of a fragrance composition comprising a plurality of fragrance ingredients, the method comprising using a processor to: retrieve a diffusion measure of how fast each fragrance ingredient diffuses into a headspace; form groups of fragrance ingredients having the same or a similar diffusion measure; determine the olfactive contribution of each fragrance ingredient; calculate the total olfactive contribution of a group of fragrance ingredients as the sum of the olfactive contributions of all fragrance ingredients forming said group; and using a graphical user interface (GUI) to display the total olfactive contribution of each group of fragrance ingredients in the order of their respective diffusion measures to visualize the temporal fragrance profile of the fragrance composition. It further provides methods of adjusting and/or balancing the temporal fragrance profile of a fragrance composition.

  • Patent number: 6238898
Abstract: The present invention relates to the production of HPO lyase proteins in hosts via recombinant expression of said proteins. Recombinant HPO lyase proteins, DNA sequences encoding these proteins, vectors containing these DNA sequences and hosts containing these vectors are provided, along with methods for recombinantly producing such proteins, DNA sequences, vectors and hosts. Also provided are processes for producing green note compounds.

  • Patent number: 6235507
Abstract: A microbiological process for producing vanillin and other useful products from ferulic acid is disclosed. Vanillin and guaiacol are recovered from the process using a differential pH extraction where the guaiacol is recovered at a pH of greater than 9 and the vanillin is recovered at a pH of from about 5 to about 8.
